Question
Equality – It mean to treat everyone equally in terms of gender, caste, religion, etc. the main aim
is to promote fairness, equality among society (Iganski and Mason, 2018).
Equity – it refers to giving everyone what they what in order to fulfil their needs.
Equality Equity
It means to treat each individual without any
difference.
It is referred as fairness and equality in
outcomes.
Here, distribution is fair Distribution is even.
Example- subsidy id provided by government
to everyone that is rich as well poor.
Example – reservation and quotas are only for
certain lower sections of society.
It provides same things. It ensures what people needs.
In my point of view I observe that there is inequality in the society. This is because of
reservations that is given to lower level (Wenzl, McCuskee and Mossialos, 2015). In jobs,
organisation, etc. certain number of seats are reserved. It has resulted in unequal distribution of
income and growth. furthermore, candidates are not recruited on basis of skills and abilities but
rather on quota system. Thus, I think that this must be equalise so that everyone gets an equal
chance for opportunity. It will help in overall growth and development of society. With this
individual need can be fulfilled and fairness is observed. In addition, the quality of services will
improve resulting in enhancing their quality of life. It can be stated that inequality in other places
has led to equalise things in society. There is unethical norms followed and growth of individual
is affected as well.
