In essence, the overall policy of a company plays a big role in explaining its attitudes as
well as values towards equality and diversity in the workplace. Notably, a set policy outlines the
primary objectives of a firm in removing prejudice and inequality and how various
improvements in terms of fair treatment are done. Disney World is one of the most celebrated
companies that are built on the magic of storytelling with an aim of entertaining, enlightening
and inspiring families around the world (Yamaguchi, 2018). In this light, Disney World tends to
recognize the overall diversity and inclusion in the multicultural world that the contemporary
societies present. Disney World stakeholders consist of business partners, employees, board of
directors or rather the shareholders, major business segments, and customers (Yamaguchi, 2018).
Some of the departments involved in this organization include administrative department,
accounting department, marketing department, and production as well as the inventory
department.
Circumstances and Sequence of Events
The core values of Disney World are built within the aspect of equality and
multiculturalism as well as inclusion across the society. Consequently, the company has in many
cases set up initiatives to support equal opportunities particularly that of gender in its
workplaces. In fact, the organization implemented the Global Workplace Women’s Initiative
(GWWI) program. Notably, the program focuses on expanding various opportunities for women
in society (Robbins, 2018). With the help of the program, the company was in a position of
employing many employees last year most of them being women. While there are still some gap
in relation to employment opportunity. AS a result, the company achieved more promotions,

particularly for the Latinos, compared to other companies that were listed in the Top 50 list.
Nonetheless, there were cases where most of those who were employed were men before they
considered equal opportunities between men and women. This shows that Disney World
embraces equality in society without discriminating on gender issues. Moreover, Disney is
virtually all about family values and, therefore, supports families of all type. The company thus
supports all kind of marriages.
Rules, Policy, or Law Was Interpreted Properly
By embracing equality between men and women in terms of its workforce, Disney World
adheres to the Equality Act of 2010 which states that it is against the law in case an employer
discriminates against a person due to their gender alignment (Hodson, Jackson, Cukier, &
Holmes, 2018). Equal opportunities are mostly concerned with keeping the law as well as
ensuring that all the decisions that are made concerning recruitment, promotion, and pay are only
based on the ability of an individual to do the task or job presented well and not because they are
either men or women.
Ethical Principles Related To Multiculturalism and Gender Equity
Establishing a good relationship between employers and workers is a crucial element of a
successful company that is well determined by the aspect of communication in multicultural
workplaces settings. In this light, effective communication acts as the main factor in the
relationship between a company and key shareholders (Giroux & Pollock, 2018). The key word
in this discussion is mutual respect and an effective communication. One of the ethical standards
that a company caught in the line of multiculturalism is to try and remove the language barrier
that may hinder its operation. Respect for others is the main ethical principle that is applicable at

might be speaking a different language and of a different gender.

Gender diversity in the general work balance between men and women has been missing
in the contemporary corporations across the globe. One of the most important lessons learned is
that it is imperative to change the culture of a company with an aim of eliminating stereotypical
gender polies that are associated with work-life balance as well as employment opportunity.
In conclusion, there are various equity concepts that one can draw from this scenario of
Disney World Company. Some of the equity concepts include perceived regularities and
hierarchically structure.
