RATIONALE
The main reason of choosing this topic is that this is relevant to their field. It is interesting
concept which can have various impacts on Disneyland in Paris.
Literature review
According to De Boer, 2018 operation management is important to planning &
controlling of services of Disneyland. It needs to focus on improving some aspects for its future
growth. The aspect of operation management on which Disneyland need to focus is efficiency. It

requires considering double bell model. Its wants to operate in some market and its main target
is families. For the future growth it is focusing on providing happy atmosphere and implement
specific operations' policy. Total quality management helps the company to provide better
services to its tourists and visitors.
According to Sutton and Austin, 2015 Operation management have various impacts on
Disneyland. For removing negative impacts and for future growth it requires focusing on cost
operations. As compare to other destinations and for attracting more tourists, Disneyland Paris is
struggling financially. During peak and of season, it has to face problems of labour turnover.
Labour costs are significantly rising because in off season there are less chances of visiting
tourists.

According to the view of Hicok and Barmore, 2016 the main concept of operation
management is to plan and control all the resources in order to provides services and goods of
the company.
According to the view of Reid and Sanders, 2015 concept of operation management is to
dive the best quality services by transforming inputs into outputs with appropriate use of all
resources.
Theme 2 To find the need of implementing operational management approaches
There are various importance of implementing all approaches of operation management.
Lam and Lai, 2015 said that it manages all routine activities. It makes the company able to make
an effective use of resources and do not produce extras wastes. It also helps in environmental
sustainability.
Kurdve and et.al., 2015 said that It plays an important role as with the help of total
quality management approach the company can focus on quality of services and products rather
than quantity.
Theme 3 To determine positive & negative impacts of approaches on Disneyland
Approaches of operation management have positive impacts. It prevents them from
producing excessive wastes at workplace Saunila, 2016. With this positive impact and by
reducing wastes it can reduce its overall cost.

divided as axiology, ontology and epistemology. It also can be divided into 4 parts & types such
as: positivism, pragmatism, realism & interpretivism. For this study researcher chooses
interpretivism because it includes researcher to interpret all the main elements of the study and to
identify the impacts of approaches of operation management on activities of Disneyland in Paris.
Research design: Research design can be defined as the framework that ensures
researcher about the informations which it collects that will give all the answers of its questions.
For this study, researcher chooses description research design because it gives detailed
information and help them in achieving its goals.
Research approach: Research approach is a process that includes various stages that
benefited researcher in data collection, their analysis and interpretation. There are 2 types of
research approach such as inductive & deductive. Inductive approach is associated with
qualitative research. For this study, researcher selects deductive approach because it supports
them to test hypothesis of this particular study and also achieve the main aim of this report which
is to understand the importance of operational management approaches of Disneyland in Paris.

Data collection: Data collection is also the way of collecting all necessary informations
effectively. This data collection is divided into 2 parts such as primary and secondary. Primary
data can be collected by interviews, surveys and experiments. On the other hand secondary type
of data is already published in newspapers, books 7 journals and from there it is collected.
Researcher will use both methods for increasing reliability of study.
Data analysis: Data analysis is the process of analysing and transforming data with the
purpose of finding out necessary informations. There are mainly 2 types of data analysis such as
quantitative and qualitative. For this study, researcher uses thematic data analysis and the
analysis which is based on themes. With this method it can easily analyse the impacts of
operation management on the activities and productivity of Disneyland in Paris.
Ethical consideration: Ethical consideration is an important part of this study. It has
some principles which are as follows:
An effective and proper level of confidentiality should be recognize 7 maintain to
researcher.
It should also follow data protection act in order to not to leak personal information
