It has been found that the aim of the strategy is to have a superior, long-term
performance that depends on the abilities of a manufacturing organization for becoming a
completely integrated partner in the context of supply chain, Thus the manufacturing
organizations should become adaptive to the strategies of the supply chain. These are the
strategies which concentrate on the way both the external and the internal processes of
business can become coordinated and integrated throughout the entire supply chain for
serving the customers in a better way. There are many examples of the business processes
which must be integrated such as the selling, purchasing, manufacturing, logistics and the
real time delivery and many others (Mor et al. 2018). The managements of the levels of
supply chain needs a new type of focus on few new ways of management. The
manufacturing managers should learn to coordinate, communicate properly with the
partners of supply chain. This holds the view that logistics is incorporated in the form of
a key supply chain function and the managers are sometimes asked to concentrate
directly on the function of supply chain as the logistics. The purpose of the research is to
answer the question of whether the supply chain focus really lead to some improved
logistics performance that in turn results in improved organizational performance or not
(Hancock et al. 2018). The research will theorize a logistics performance model along
with the logistics performance being the focal construct and the supply chain
management strategy in the form of the marketing performance and antecedent. The data
will be collected from the national 10 Nigerian manufacturers for accessing the model
having followed a structural methodology.The objective of the research is to theorize and
assess whether the logistics functions leave impact on the organizational performance as
a whole or not.

The study will follow and collet data from both the primary and the secondary sources.
The operations managers and the plant managers will be chosen from 10 manufacturers
of Nigeria. These manufacturing managers will be surveyed having used a follow-up
mailing procedure. The sample frame will be constructed for targeting a relatively high
level managers as the operation managers and the plant managers. With the engagement
of more supply chain professionals, more new ways of sample framing for the supply
chain can be developed. As the research philosophy positivism will be used and as far as

the research design is concerned, the inductive approach will be suitable for the research.

The logistics- The logistics is one most significant component of the entire supply chain
management. The council of the s supply chain management professionals define the
logistics management being a part of the supply chain management that plans,
implements and then controls the most efficient, reverse and effective flow and the
storage of the goods and related information. The importance of the integration of
logistics is huge and requires the logistics processes of all of the supply chain partners
fulfill the need of the end-users (Bienhaus and Haddud 2018). The logistics is further
identified as having the largest costs involved in the global trade. It is further found that
the logistics service providers are helpful for the internet sellers in terms of integrating
with many available logistics companies for addressing the orders of the customers.
It has been further investigated that the creation of the customer value all over through
the integration of supply chain and the operational excellence. It is illustrated that there
are different models which identify the logistics being in the form of unification of intra-
originality between the marketing functions and the production between customers and
the suppliers (Glas and Kleemann 2016).
It is also found that the state of the logistics along with the supply chain are aware of the
requirement of developing the supplier partnerships, coordination and the integration. It
is for facilitating the seamless integration which is unavailable till date. There is one such
pressure of the emerging markets for rapidly adopting the logistics a supply chain. The
managers have focused traditionally on the improvement of the performance of the
organization. There are several attempts of optimizing the organizational performance
that may negatively impact on the whole supply chain performances. The damage of the
competitive advantage of the chain is linked with the overall performance of supply
chain.
As far as the logistics performance model is concerned, it has been proposed to be a
schema for the research on supply chain including the transportation along with the
logistics capabilities which is the link between the structure and the performance of the
supply chain (Selomo and Govender 2016). It is assessed that the relationship between
the organizational performance and the logistics quality is quite usual and it is impacted
vice versa.
