Introduction
Aims and objectives
The aim of this study is to understand the impact of information and technology on
the managerial concept of supply chain. The main objectives of the research are –
 Define information and technology.
 Define the management of supply chain.
 Understand the impact of IT on supply chain.
Research questions
 What is the definition of information and technology?
 What is the role of supply chain in the study of management?
 What is the impact of information and technology on supply chain management?
Purpose of the research
The study is being conducted to investigate about the impact of information system on
supply chain. It will be purposefully conducted to combine the complex management supply
chain and its connection with modern technology.
Literature review
Afshan, Chatterjee & Chhetri, (2018) mentioned that information system is the
systematic study that demonstrate the notion of networks, hardware, software that help people
to collect information and utilize it in business process.
Mishra et al., (2018) defined the term supply chain as the network between the
organization and the suppliers. Along with this it demonstrates the entire procedure of supply
chain and its management.

greater impact on supply chain management. It helps to understand the coordination between
the suppliers and the organization. It also helps to detect and resolve the issues related to it.
Literature gap
The existing literature successfully define the terms supply chain and information and
technology however the study lacks information to understand the impact of IT on supply
chain management.
Methodology
A qualitative approach will be followed to gather information about the research
work. All the reliable information will be combined and interpreted to draw a common result
from the research work.
