understanding of the differences and the similarities that are highlighted in terms of the cultural
matters that are practiced by the residents in a certain area (Godfrey et al., 2019). The following
paper would attempt a discussion on the advantages and the disadvantages that are observed in
dealing with the diversity that is existent within the United States.
What you have learned about your own racial, ethnic, or cultural history?
The history of the North American owes a greater part of the cultural matters to the Asians and the
residents of the Pacific area as well as the Pacific Islanders. There is observed a greater amount of
influence that is highlighted within the cultural factors as have been maintained within the given
territorial boundaries as well. The immigrants from the Asian Pacific cultures who have been
residing within the territorial boundaries of the United States are known to have entered the
concerned country during the periods of the discovery of the gold that was traced in the city of
California (Hendery & McConvell, 2017). This had resulted in the greater amount of diversity within
the given territorial boundaries of the United States of America that includes the people from the
Asian Pacific backgrounds.

others in ways that you may not have in the past?
The residential diversity as is maintained within the given territorial boundaries of the United States
of America highlighted the fact that the population of the United States is composed of the people

these trends to the year 2050. What do you think the U.S. population will look like in the year
2050? Provide an example.
The demographic conditions of the United States would face a great change in the year 2050. One
of the major drivers of change in this regard would be the increasing amount of the immigratory
residents of the country. The population of the United states of America would be observed to have
been embracing individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. The residents of the country would
demonstrate a higher acceptance towards interracial couples and other immigrants who have been
residing within the country. The residents of the future United States might not have any prejudiced
views against the Arabic women who cover their faces as a part of their cultural behavior and
would behave in a friendly manner with them.
According to the predictions of the US Census Bureau, the individuals belonging to the minority
groups will form the majority of the population of the country. The country would further experience
a greater number of older citizens by the year 2050 (Edition.cnn.com, 2020).
What challenges does the United States face due to the diversity of its people?
The huge diversity among the residents of the United States pose greater issues in dealing with
the activities that are related to the overall development of the country. The country has been
home to a greater number of Hispanics and other such races. The key issue that is highlighted due
to the high amount of the diversity refer to increasing levels of poverty and decreasing levels of
education within the country (Joshua-Gojer, Allen & Huang, 2019). The other issue that is
highlighted in this regard refer to the issue of the urbanization that has been taking place within the
country. The country might also face issues due to the lack of proper language teaching programs.
Thus, the introduction of language learning programs for children would assist the development of
the country.
What are some benefits of a diverse society?
The major benefits of the huge diversity within the population of the United States refer to the
larger talent pool wherefrom the employers might be capable of recruiting the necessary talents.

are generally observed to be specific to certain cultures. The diversification of the society helps in

pluralism in the United States?
In order to foster a climate of acceptance as well cultural pluralism within the United States, the
concerned residents are advised to maintain a condition of respect for each other. The governing
bodies of the country are advised to be implement an acceptance for the various cultural diversities
and other related factors in order to embrace the condition of cultural pluralism within the country.
The governing bodies as well as the other media houses are advised to implement the practices of
exposure to the various lifestyles and thereafter grant all the residents of the country equality in
terms of the rights that are enjoyed by the citizens (Schwarzenthal et al., 2018). The concerned
media houses are further advised to discourage stereotyping of any kind. This in turn would help
the governing bodies to establish and maintain cultural pluralism within the country.
In what three ways might individuals in the United States work together to reduce prejudice and
increase appreciation for diversity?
The individuals who have been residing within the territorial boundaries of the United States are
advised to work for the increment in the appreciation and the acceptance of diversity. They are
also encouraged to take measures in order to reduce the prejudices that exist within the mindset of
the people regarding individuals belonging to some other cultural backgrounds. One of the most
effective ways to deal in the eradication of the prejudiced thoughts is to educate the concerned
people (Rios & Wynn, 2016). The increase in educational activities would help the concerned
individuals to get rid of the various prejudices that they have been harboring regarding people
belonging to separate cultural backgrounds (Nnawulezi, Ryan & O’Connor, 2016). The people
should also be encouraged to take part in the activities that involve participants from diverse
backgrounds.
