INTRODUCTION
This research project will aim to examine different area of diversity and equality at
workplace. It also particularly emphasis on how the diversity managed in working environment
or culture. Diversity and equality are highly relevant and based on the concept that ensure of
every employee has same type of access in terms of career development opportunities. The
diversity and inclusion strategy helpful for business that should place equal values on all people
within organization. It highlights the qualitative and qualitative methods to collect the required
data.
Background: Diversity is a concept that understand about the dealing with diverse socio-
economic culture and political. As Marks and Spencer is offering high quality of services to
customers and producing the superior products which are more focused on ensuring that
inclusive work culture and diversity that exists within organization. Sometimes, it will create the

business growth and development. workforce diversity makes a huge impact on business
employee that put extra efforts within organization to achieve their goal and objectives by
enhancing and motivating the skills and morale of employees. The study presents the aim and
objectives and the different aspects of project management plan to complete the research project
effectively (Morshed, 2016). It highlights the different methods of conducting research and

It is based on the procedure in the form of approved documents that identified how research

Research design: The research of the project broadly classified in two category
quantitative and qualitative research. Qualitative research helps to get the deeper

conducted in positivism and interpretivism way. In positivism philosophy the role of

researcher has minimal interaction with the respondents in positivism research
philosophy. Interpretivism philosophy is based on the interviews and observation method.
According to the above study researcher used the interpretivism philosophy.
Data collection: it can be done by primary and secondary method. In primary method
data are collected by interview, observation and focused group interview while the
secondary data are already collected by different researcher and readily available on the
different sites, newspaper and magazines (Flick, 2015). According to the above research
researcher use the primary data collection method by collecting the data through survey
method via questionnaire. Researcher uses the primary data method because it helps them
to gather and interpret the accurate information from the respondents. The primary data
can be collected by the qualitative and quantitative method. Here researcher use both
qualitative and quantitative data to gather and interpret the information.
Sampling: Sampling of the data help to select the sample from the wide range of
population. Researcher can use various sampling method to gather data from respondents
such as probabilistic and non-probabilistic method. In probabilistic sampling researcher
select sample by random sampling in which researcher provide equal chance to each
sample. In non-probabilistic sampling researcher use the convenience, quota, purposive
and multi-stage sampling (Quinlan and et.al., 2019). Purposive sampling is used to select
the sample for the specific purpose, characteristics and objective of the study. It helps the
researcher to get more clear and effective answer from the respondents. By using non-
probabilistic sampling method to gather the data. In non-probabilistic sampling
researcher use purposive method. The study of identifying the ways to improve training,
recruitment and selection process requires analyse the views of the manager or employees
of multinational company. That's why researcher use the purposive method of sampling.
The sample size of the research study is 25 managers of Marks and Spencer company to

evaluate the diversity and equality at workplace. There are 25 respondents participate
in the questionnaires and give their own opinion towards the workforce equality.
On the other hand, 3 participates in the open-ended interviews to give own
opinion.
Data analysis: Data analysis can be done by applying the different tools and techniques
to evaluate the gathered data. It can also be done by preparing themes, graphs and
interpretation. Here the researcher uses the thematic method to analyse the data (Fletcher,
2017). In which they prepared themes on the basis of questionnaire and present them by
different graphs such as bar graph, pie chart, histogram, line graph etc. The interpretation
of data helps to evaluate the information from the presented graphs for the better
understanding of viewers.
Limitation: The limitation of the research refers to the difficulties faced by the
researcher while conducting the research. Due to the lack of resources researcher conduct
its study to the limited area and choose limited sample but researcher use the purposive
sampling method to get the accurate data from the research. The limited budget and time
of the project also restrict the area of research. But to minimize the impact of limited
budget and time researcher use the Gantt chart and time line to schedule each and every
activity of the research and set the time for different activities (Taylor, Bogdan and
DeVault, 2015). It helps researcher to review the project time to time and complete the
activities in prescribed time to get the effective outcomes.
Ethical consideration: It is the important aspect of the research study. Ethics helps to
differentiate between the right and wrong things. In research project researcher has to
undertake the various aspect to maintain the ethics while conducting the research. To
maintain the ethical aspect of the project they fill up the consent form to get the
permission regarding the research. The accuracy and originality of the data are also
important to maintain the ethics. Here researcher use the official websites of the different
company to get the review of different manager and to provide the accurate data.

own idea, thoughts related business development. From the above research it has been

basis of gender, sexually at workplace. It is beneficial for organization to increase productivity
and profitability in global marketplace. on the other hand, it also tends to make higher quality
decision that impact on the Marks and Spencer bottom line by increasing creativity in terms of

recent years and now completing in global world. Multinational companies are able to select hire

and development. To complete the research and get effective result firstly I set the aims and
objectives of the research and take the help of tutor to start my research with the right base. The
project management plan helps me to understand the requirement of resources, cost, time,
quality, communication etc. to conduct the research with the given budget and resources.
On the other hand, for collecting data or information by using qualitative method which
is the most interesting part of the whole research. It reflects my own ability and knowledge in
conducting the research and understand the different aspect of the project. The most challenging
part of the whole research is data collection part. In data collection I use the both qualitative and
quantitative method to communicate with the respondents. But the best thing is that the
respondents are supportive, they willingly answer my questions and help me to get the deeper
knowledge about the workforce diversity methods of Marks and Spencer company. To the above
research it also determined about the entire research project and also able to achieve my aims &
objectives and develop the understanding of diverse group and its impact on Marks and Spencer.
For achieving the project, I always make an efficient plan which helps for me to
identifying step by step resources that require for project completion. First of all, I learnt about
the concept of workforce diversity and various type of issues that generated within organization.
I also conducted the session of interviews and questionnaire for gathering or collecting
information about research project where how diverse and inclusive workforce importance for
business that help for achieving business objectives. During planning process, I have learnt about
the different types of discrimination exists within organization which directly affects on the
employee performance and functionality. In this way, I have determined the strategies which will
help for improving the quality of services and further make a plan to eliminate issues. I also
identify that many organizations equally treated to their employee without any discrimination
and only focused on the quality where how employee handle any critical situation in business
operations.
