Language
Simple language
It is important to use simple language which is easy to understand by the communicator.
Complicated words must be avoided by the doctors.
Repetition
Speaker must repeat at the end what is said by the speaker, this will make the audience
better understand what is being said by the speaker (Goodley, 2016).
Culture
Employing diversity training
The staff of the hospital must be training which is of diverse culture. This will lead to
closure of the communication gap among the sender of the message and the receiver of the
message of different language.
Appreciation of culture difference
While doing the communication the speaker must promote the different culture by
appreciating the different culture. This will motivate the employees and the employees will feel
they are given special consideration in the organization.
2. (a)Describing three strategies for effective communication.
The three effective communication strategies are;
Focus must be on the issue
The communicator of the message must focus on what is the issue. For example if the
staff is facing any problem then the same must be addressed by following the hierarchy. The
communicator should be only on the topic.
Flexibility
The communicator must be flexible while addressing the issues. For example if in the
staff the nurse is of different culture then and the listener is unable to understand the issue of the
nurse then the person must be polite and flexible towards the solving the issue by telling again
and in a better way the solution of the issue.

The employees must be shown empathy in which the employees of the different culture
must share the feelings of with the other employees. This will lead to relation building among the
employees and this will lead to increase in the friendly environment.
(b) How effective is visual imagery when communicating information to ethnic groups ?
Visual imagery is very helpful in communicating with ethnic groups. It helps to minimize
the wastage of time. As compared with written and oral communication, visual images takes less
time to communicate any type of information. Further, visual images will also assists ethnic
groups in taking decisions in fast and effective manner. Further, communicating information to
larger number of people become easier with the help of visual imagery (Govere and Govere,
2016).
For example – Diagram related with scenery that includes mountain, moon etc.
Painting of a shape, motion, pattern or texture etc.
Images of space, angle, proportion etc. all are examples of universal visual images.
3(a) How to improve social and cultural awareness.
There are different ways in which social and cultural awareness can be improved. These
are as follows -
Celebrating traditional holidays, festivals and food etc.
Observing and listening to foreign customers and colleagues.
Paying attention to differences in the culture (Lam and Riba eds., 2016).
(b) Briefly explain how everyone in the workplace is responsible for cultural inclusiveness.
Cultural inclusiveness means to support the needs of people belonging from diverse
cultures and providing importance to their contribution. It includes continuously raising
awareness, whether it is related with compromise or negotiation. It is important to understand the
difference between diversity and inclusiveness. People working in company should know their
responsibilities for cultural inclusiveness. Human Resource Manager of the company should
make efforts to recruit workforce belonging from different cultures. This will help to improve
productivity and profitability of the company. All the people should know their responsibility
whether it is top management, supervisors etc (Slade, Oades and Jarden eds., 2017). Manager
should provide chance to employee’s to hear their views and opinions. Further, employees

There are different types of Act's that supports diversity and culture at the workplace.
These are as follows -
Age discrimination in Employment Act, 2004 :
The law prohibits discrimination on the basis of age. The act includes ban against
discrimination on the basis of age and also restricts discrimination in wages, promotions,
termination of employment and benefits. It also protect people from age discrimination in the
provision of goods and services etc (Easley, 2019).
Equal Pay Act, 2010 :
The term equal pay means payment of wages equally to men and women that are
performing similar work. In Australia, the act was introduced in year 1969. It is illegal to
discriminate among male and female on the basis of gender.
Fair Work Act 2009 :
It is an important piece of commonwealth legislation that regulates workplace relations
and employment. It defines terms and conditions of employment and also provide rights and

help them to make grievances in respect of any problem they are facing. I never use the words
that hurts the employee’s with whom I work. Example – I do not use phrases such as Its your
problem, I don't care what you think etc. Always ensures that, there is mutual understanding
between us. All the employee’s works as a team to achieve the aim and objectives of the
organization. Moreover, I always ensure that there is a good environment for working in the
firm. Further, I help them whenever they find any type of difficulties.
b) If you were unsure regarding needs of the person, how to find out information regarding the
culture ?
In case I am not sure regarding the cultural requirements of a person, I would maintain
the record of information regarding that particular individual. The information will include such
as name of the person, date of birth, past medical history, medications, information related with
the culture etc. This information will help me to determine the cultural needs of particular
person. Further, the looks and physical appearance of the individual will also support me to
identify culture requirements of the person. The way of talking will also assist me to collect
information regarding the culture of person. Moreover, looks and clothing appearance of the
individual will help me determine cultural needs of the person.

of Ray's sister, Claude may feel emotionally depressed due to the separation from Ray.
2) Strategies that can be put into place to enable Ray to visit New Greens Aged Care facility.
There are various ways that can be adopted by Ray to meet Claude. These are as follows -
Claude may book a ticket of bus or car to visit the age care facility as Ray is unable to
drive vehicle.
Ray can meet Claude by visiting the age care facility with any other person such as friend
or any other family member that has no objection on the homosexual relationship
between Claude and Ray.
Both Ray and Claude can meet at any other place like in a garden, mall etc. where they
can spent quality time together. This will also not affect psychological and emotional
