Part 1
Johari window
Ask Known by self: It is the first quadrant of Johari Window wherein points included which
are noticed by both individual and front person with consensus. On evaluation it is
observed that I usually during communication less listen others. Due to this reason I have
less concentration which lead to lack of concentration and poor relationship management.
This is the one of point where I need to do lot of work in order to handle situation. Unknown by self: It is the second quadrant of the Johari Window where points are noted
about self-nature about which one is not aware but other people have full knowledge
about them (Kälin, 2017). On completion of test I come to know that I am deep thinker
and dig in detail about everything that is in front of me. This lead to better self-
management which assist me to work better with other people at the workplace. Thus, it
can be said that it is one of my core competencies.
Tell
Hidden area: It is the third quadrant of the Johari Window facts related to points which
are known by self but not by others. Social awareness is the front where I know but my
colleagues does not know in detail about extent to which myself is aware socially about
people nature, belief and attitude (Bird and Mendenhall, 2016). I easily interact and mix
up with the people and sometimes lead to development of strong relationship with others.
Thus, it is another strength on hidden area quadrant of Johari Window.
Unknown area: It is the fourth quadrant of the Johari Window facts related to points
which are not known by self and others to great extent are recorded. It is important to
note that unknown area points are known to both entities but they are not 100% sure that
whatever they think is correct or not. In this quadrant self-awareness comes as I and my
colleagues does not know the extent to which I am self-aware about own. Hence, it is
hard to form any opinion on this front. However, some of points in respect to self-
awareness which I know is that I am very emotional and sensitive human being and over
react to any good or bad thing that happened in my personal life.

Part 2
Strength and weakness and steps to bring improvement in life
Some of my strengths and weakness that I come to know through output of Johari Window
model are explained below.
Strength: My major strength is that I am a deep thinker and in respect to work as well as
personal life think a lot in detail about specific issue that I faced. All these things lead to
better self-management according to current conditions (Mead and Jones, 2017). Due to
this reason I am able to deal with people in proper manner and make better decisions
even situation is complicated. Thus, it can be said that it is one of my core strength and
help a lot in coming out of tricky situation. I have strong knowledge of people attitude
and behaviour. Due to this reason able to interact with them in better manner which lead
to development of strong relationship with other people at the workplace.
Weakness: My main weakness is that I speak more and listen less which irritate those
who have social relationship with me. Such kind of behaviour weaken my relationships
which were stronger with front person. I need to do a lot of work on this front and in this
regard will follow 7 C’s communication model under which I will speak less but clearer.
First, I will listen other’s and then will communicate my views to the front person. I will
use simple and easy to use words. Sentence will be concise and concrete in nature which
will make communication effective (Barker, 2016). In other words, it can be said that all
these things will make my communication better with front person. Second weak point is
that there are some fronts where I am not fully aware about myself. In order to deal with
this problem, I will do meditation which will help me in paying due attention to the entire
thought process that going on in my mind. Hence, in this way I will deal with my weak
point.
Part 3
Competencies need development to become global citizen
In order to become global citizen, one must have deep knowledge of other culture people
thoughts, custom, attitude and belief as well as body language related etiquettes. After having
such knowledge, one can easily mix with the people in the international market. Some of the
competencies that is required to become global citizen are explained below.

Research: One must have good research skills so that it can get detailed information
about other culture people value system, attitude and belief etc. In the international
market it is observed that when two different teams belong to different culture start
working together lots of mis understanding happened (Tombleson and Wolf, 2017). For
example, in some culture groups it is assumed that when women come between group of
gents or women and body goes for lunch or any other thing chair must be pull back and
then female must be invited to sit first. On other hand, in some culture such kind of thing
is not assumed good and it is considered as flirt or one is trying to do romance with
women. Hence, while dealing with individual belong to different culture it is necessary to
comprehend front person value system, attitude and belief etc. Body language: Due importance need to be given to the body language as some of
actions that are reflected through body language seems unacceptable in specific culture.
For example, Hispanic people does not like to do regular eye contact during conversation
and prefer more body contact with each other during communication (The importance of
cultural intelligence within global organization., 2019). Suppose team comprises
Hispanic people come in contact with team of UK people then in that case conflict may
happen and both teams may find it difficult to interact with each other. This is because
UK people prefer eye contact regularly during conversation and Hispanic not. Thus,
uncomfortable situation comes in existence which affect team work. Hence, I think that
there is need to develop research skills so that better understanding about other people
culture can be developed in proper manner (Betancourt, Green and Carrillo, 2016).
Important point to note is that eye contact is seen from different angel in two cultures.
Due to this reason while dealing with people belong to different culture it is very
important to have deep knowledge of body language that is acceptable to front person.
CONCLUSION
Insights will certainly help me in culture development in any organization. On basis of
above discussion, it is concluded that there is significant importance of understanding or
knowledge of the other cultures. This is because such kind of knowledge will help me in carrying
out business related operations in efficient and effective manner. I believed that those who are
team leaders must have strong knowledge of foreign culture so that accordingly they can
communicate with their counterparts and subordinates in systematic manner. Many times,

conflict happened between teams and coordination become absent between them. Lack of
understanding of culture is one of the main factors responsible for such kind of situation. Hence,
I need to learn lot of things so that I can work in better way with people belong to other culture.
