Introduction
Diversity means a situation of things or people being diverse. The main aspect of diversity is
social diversity referring to other social key areas that include culture, race, ethnicity, religious
beliefs and sexual identity beliefs (Page, 2011). All these social diversity areas have different
characteristics that distinguish them from each other as discussed below.
Discussion
Cultural diversity
Characterized by the presence of different cultures. The cultures differ in beliefs in language,
norms, and beliefs. In some cases culture is intergenerational and it’s passed from one generation
to the other. Culture is learned and not biologically inherited.
Race adversity
Race diversity is mainly characterized by the presence of people from different racial
backgrounds. Examples, black and white people, individuals with Albinism and those without,
different hair structure as well as those characterized by body heights. Example the Dwarfs who
are related with the short people in the society (Tchibozo, 2013).
Ethnicity diversity
Mainly consist of people from different ethnic background. This may be in terms of location,
education, gender identity, language, economic background, political affiliation among many
other distinct factors.
Religious beliefs diversity
Different people believe in different religious practices like the day they should set aside for
worship where some set the 5th day of the week for worship, 6th day while others it’s the 7th day

of the week for worship. In religious line, some people believe there is God and heaven while
others do not. Others worship goddess and gods while others worship God.
Sexual beliefs diversity
Mainly characterized by two main worlds, traditional and modern beliefs of sexuality. In the
traditional times most believed that sex is mainly for the married people and it’s between a male
and a female in an agreement. In the modern era, sex has been characterized as an act of fan and
can be between a male and female, female and female (lesbianism), male and male (gays),
human being and an animal (bestiality). Different people also have diverse sexual organs as
some are said to be unisexual, bisexual and transgender.
