Diwali is an Indian festival mostly celebrated with lights, firecrackers, and different
types of cuisines. In Australia, we cherish Diwali with carnivals, fairs that are true to the
Indian nature of this festival. The holy aim connected with this festival is the win of light in
sense of power and light over darkness. The word Dipavali is a Sanskrit word that refers to a
line of lamps. Diyas or lamps are the significant sign of this festival. This festival has great
relevance for every regional people. To put it simply, this festival has particular preference
for Hindus or Indians. It is a symbol of glory that allows the humankind to forget about the
dark phase of their lives and start a new enjoyable life with lights and foods. Diwali is a
festival that is celebrated across the globe with equal importance and glory.
Hence, to arrange a carnival to celebrate Diwali successfully we took many initiatives.
Firstly, collaborative spirit should be there in an event management to handle this huge
function. The prime step of the entire program is to make a proper planning. First step for the
planning is to select an ideal place to arrange some programs related to Diwali carnival.
Indian culture has deep acquaintance with arts and music. The place (Such as Melbourne)
was spacious enough to make a stage for the arrangement of different cultural activities. Our
team arrange the stage with proper decorations concerning the safety issues to avoid any
stage related mishaps. Carnivals are great attractions for Kids and young generations. Hence,
we arranges for various rides to make the place enjoyable with the entire family.
Arrangement for rides including merry go round, rollercoasters, bumper cars, and Kiddie
rides for kids. The experts and engineers checked all the rides before launching the event. We
arranged for written guidelines for the use of rides indicating the age group of persons to be
allowed for the ride.
Apart from the rides and stage show, any celebration is incomplete with foods and
beverages. We arranged some food stalls of various snacks and beverages. Indian foods tickle
into our mouth and serve our appetite with absolute pleasure. We took the initiative and

requested to many Indian restaurants around Melbourne for this purpose. Our initiatives were
able to convince them and this carnival results into a great success. As a teamwork, the
management team including me, has given their cent per cent effort to achieve success for
this event. The supportive nature of our team is the key aspect behind the great success of our
carnival. We have arranged a feedback section for the audience who visited our carnival. That
feedback form included rating out of ten, rating for the management of the event, and any
suggestion to improve the management of the event. The purpose of this feedback program to
trace our progress in the field of event management. It also helped changing our way of
working according to the suggestion of our audience.
This festival has significance for distributing peace and happiness among the
humankind. The celebration stands for the victory of positivity over evil or the dark phase of
ignorance. This festival exhibits the nature of erasing the social, cultural, and economic
differences among people. This carnival was held according to the ritual of the Hindus that
prolonged for five days. According to the study, these five days signifies five different
aspects of the festival. It is a multicultural festival that people celebrate with family and
friends. The first day of this festival is known as Dhanteras cleaning the homes and buying
metals for bringing happiness. Our carnival has some shops from where people can buy
metals as token of happiness and spreading humanity.
We have arranged for rangoli competition for the second day of the festival especially
for the female members of the family. For the third day, there was arrangement for some
stage programs to entertain the visitors. Different types of stage shows were arranged for
each five days of the carnival. Moreover, our team spirit result into a great success that
boosted up our energy to organise these festivals in future. The suggestions and reviews we
gathered from our visitors will be implemented in all our next events to provide them
ultimate satisfaction.
