Communication in workplace is a very important aspect for a company. With the
presence of a good communication in the workplace the employees of the organization will be
able to avoid any kind of conflict among themselves. The feeling of misunderstanding will be
removed with the help of proper communication in the workplace. With the presence of a better
communication in the workplace the employees will be able to increase their engagement
(Dainton & Zelley, 2017). Ethical theory have been used in this assignment to understand the
various ethics in communication. With the aid of this theory the various ways by the help of
which the company is breaching the ethical issues in the workplace can be understood in a proper
way. The theory will also be useful in understanding the various process by the help of which the
employees of the organization will be able to conduct ethical communication in the workplace of
the company.
In the case it have been identified that the Drinkwater associates have been using harsher
methods of communication among the employees in the meeting. This is causing the company to
lose 30 percent of the new employees in the organization (Dalio, 2020). The company is having
problems in retaining its new employees but it seems to be fine with it. The company is having
ethical communication problems in the workplace. The meetings which are held by the company
it makes the employee present their work to others in the meetings to everyone and state the
relevance of their presentation. The other employees who are sitting in the meeting are rating the
employee in real time and the ratings are visible to everyone who are present in the meeting.
There is presence of no anonymity among them and the employees of the company rate each
other’s presentation. This is a very harsh process of gaining feedbacks from colleagues in a
workplace (Dalio, 2020). The process have been proved very effective for the company but it is
very hard for the new employees to digest the fact and so they generally leave the workplace. A

firmer mode of communication among the employees in the workplace must be conducted but it
must be taken into account that the employees are feeling better and motivated in receiving the
feedback in a blatant way from their other colleagues.
There are a numerous number of advantages of having a better communication in a
workplace. With the help of a better communication in the workplace the employees of the
company are able to feel themselves to be connected to the company and understand the better
ways by the help of which the employees will work towards the betterment of the company (Mo
& Shi, 2017).The new employees who are hired by the company feel at home in the workplace
and understand the various functioning of the company and the various ways in which the
company operates to meet their goals and target (Mo & Shi, 2017). These steps can be followed
to ensure that the members of the company feel at home in the workplace and the employees of
the company can make the workplace ethically sound (Culiberg & Mihelič, 2016).
Communication and organizations goes hand in hand and the whole existence of an organization
can be connected to communication. The existence of an organization depends on the pattern of
the network which is associated with various energies and interactions between the individuals in
the organization (Fahie, 2014). In the present context of business it can be said that companies
around the world must implement a better communication in all levels of the company so that
there exists a clear flow of ideas among the people in the workplace of the company (Einarsen et
al., 2017). The employees in accompany needs to have an effective communications among
themselves so that they can have a clear understanding in a workplace. The managers and the
leaders of an organization must ensure that there is a presence of better communication in the
workplace so that the employees of the company can give regular feedbacks to them. In
Drinkwater associates there is presence of regular communication in the workplace but there is

an absence of ethical communication in the workplace. With the implementation of ethical
communication in the workplace the company will be able to conduct their business in a proper
manner and they will also be able to retain their new employees. The percentage of the number
of new employees leaving the company will be highly reduced and there will be presence of
better communication in the workplace (Taylor & Pattie, 2014).
Ethical communication in the workplace suggests that the people in an organization
communicate in a professional way by stating their various ideas. In ethical communication the
employees in an organization are able to conduct their business in a proper way. The various
ideas and outlooks of other employees in ethical communication are respected (Cheney,
Christensen, Zorn & Ganesh, 2010). With the help of ethical communication in the workplace
Drinkwater associates will be able to take care of their employees in a better way and the
employees of the organization will also be very much helped in the company. With the
implementation of the ethical communication in the workplace the employees of the organization
will also be able to attract more employees in the organization. Owing to the bad feedback
system in the Company a lot of employees in the country do not want to go to company. These
things can be avoided by the company by the help of the implementation of ethical
communication in the workplace (Cheney, Christensen, Zorn & Ganesh, 2010). Ethical
communication in the workplace not only helps in maintaining the morale in the workplace but
also keeps the employees and the company in the same place and path. With the help of this
process the employees of the company will be able to help the company in reaching their targets
and the mission and vision of the company will be met by the employees of the company. In
ethical communication, an employee in an organization conveys a point to other individual

them in maintaining an ethical workplace. In an ethical workplace the managers and the leaders
of the organization along with the employees conduct a set of rules which is followed by them.
By the implementation of code of ethics in an organization any leader or employee of the
company will not be able to defend themselves against any kinds of misconducted which have
been conducted by them on the business grounds (Guillén, Ferrero & Hoffman, 2015). By the
implementation of ethical communication in the workplace the employees of the organization are
able to strike the balance between the rights and wrong and hence improve their productivity. By
the implementation of the ethical communication the employees in the workplace tend to share
their ideas with other members of the company as well as the leaders of the company
(Holtzhausen, 2015). If there is a constant flow of information in the company then the company
will be well aware of the various strengths of the employees. The employees of the organization
is not only able to bond strongly with their peers but also they are able to maintain a healthy
relationship with the line managers as well as the directors of the company. All the head of the
company remain on the same page with the employees of the organization. The stakeholders of
the company are also aware of the various functioning of the company and the investors of the
company will be having a clear idea about the various future steps of the company. Ethical issues
in the company must be properly addressed by the managers of the company to ensure that a

proper workplace is being maintained by the employees (Sims, 2015). In the present context of
business it must be said that almost all the top companies in the world have various rules of
ethics which needs to be followed by the employees. The Drinkwater associates also have certain
policies which needs to be attended by the employees so that an ethical workplace can be
maintained. But with the implementation of harsh feedback process in the meetings the company
is tending to lose a lot of new employees. The company have been accused of breaching certain
limits of ethics. Not all the employees in the organization have the same capability and this needs
to be addressed by the company (Valentine, Fleischman & Godkin, 2015). Instead of allowing
live feedback process in the meeting the company can include better training methods which will
be keeping the morale of the employees high and there will be a presence of ethical workplace in
the company (Liao, Liu, Kwan & Li, 2015).
In 2016, the company was accused of radical transparency in which the company was
found out to be crossing the ethical limits (Mitonga-Monga, Flotman & Cilliers, 2016). The
company has been recording the feedback of the employees and this was against any ethical
conduct of business. Many business leaders criticized the company for this process but the
company did not take any concern over this issue (Mitonga-Monga, Flotman & Cilliers, 2016).
The company took the consent from the employees’ before recording their feedback process.
This was a serious ethical issue which was crossed by the company. With the implementation of
the non-ethical process the company have been seen to lose new employees in less than a month.
Ethical theory in organization can be implemented by the company to ensure that it can
include ethical communication in the workplace. Ethical theory in communication explains that a
company must ensure that there are certain barriers to everything and the business needs to be
conducted in a proper way (Dainton & Zelley, 2017). The communication which will be existing

between employees of the organization in all levels is following certain rules so that the
employees in the organization feel safe and comfortable in the workplace. Drinkwater needs to
implement ethical communication in the workplace and ensure that there is the presence of a
clear communication among the employees of the company (Khalighi & Uysal, 2014). The
various process by the help of which ethical communication can be implemented by the company
in workplace must be conducted by the company so that there are proper ways by the help of
which the company can implement ethics in the workplace.
To conclude it can be said the implementation of ethical communication in a workplace is
very important for a company. With the help of ethical communication the employees of the
company have the ability to perform in a better way since they feel that they are part of the
company. The various process by the help of which the employees can be motivated in the
workplace is by improving the morale of the employees and this can be done by the manes of an
effective communication in the workplace. In the present context of business conduction it can
be said that the employees of the company will be working towards meeting the goals and
missions of the company if they are aware of the various functioning of the company in a proper
way. With the implementation of ethical communication in the workplace the company will be
able to conduct their business in a proper way and they will be improving their position in their
market and the company will also be able to retain its employees in a proper way.
