Introduction
DriveYello is an online fast-food delivery company that is operating in Australia for
10 years. The main objective of this food delivery company is to deliver the local foods at the
doorsteps of the consumers. Recently, the organization is facing some problems regarding the
operations and inventory control (Detand, 2018). Apart from that excess stocks and shortage
of some particular items are leading this company to face loss in many cases. This makes the
position of the organization strained in the competitive market. The main objective of this
paper is to develop a system thinking so that the managing of the shortcomings of Driveyello
can be achieved.
Discussion
Currently, the identified problems in DriveYello are-
Imbalance in the stocks: There is are problems in the operation management. It has
been seen that there are excess of the stocks (Arnold & Wade, 2015). However, some of the
food items are becoming popular. However, there is shortage of those food items. The
consumers thus, preferring the services from the other company.
System thinking can be applied to improve the current situation of the DriveYello. In
this context, CATWOE tool can be used for the identification of the problems and the
solutions.
Customer: This will indicate, the way business situation of the organization will affect
the existing customer base. For the DriveYello, the consumers are not getting the desired
services as there is a shortage in inventory. In this situation, they are moving for the other
companies. Thus, the organization is losing the existing consumer base.

Actors: Actors are referred as the employees in the organization. In this context, it has
been seen that the new employees are not trained in a proper way for handling and managing
the online system (Elster, Müller & Fingerhut, 2016). Thus, it can be said for most of the
employees, the quality is becoming an issue.
Transformation process: the transformation process will help to revamp the whole
system of DriveYello. The system thinking for changing of the process can be applicable for
this situation. In this stage the management can question “How”, “Where”, “What” regarding
the renovation of the functioning at DriveYello.
World view: This defines the situation of the company in a bigger perspective. The
project can be seen from the stakeholder’s perspective (Redmond & Alshawi, 2017). It can be
assumed that the main stakeholders which is the customers are not satisfied with the service
of DriveYello and the positive transformation of the company can make the consumers
interested about the taking the fast food service from DriveYello.
Owners: the owners of the DriveYello is responsible for the implementation of the
changes those are the outcome of the system thinking.
Environmental constraints: During the implementation of the new system that
includes managing the stocks on the basis of the market analysis, there should be some
environmental constraints like ethical boundaries. The rules and regulations are maintained
during the development of the new system.
Conclusion
It can be concluded from the above discussion that the system thinking can be helpful
for the implementation of the new system at DriveYello. It can be said that this improvisation
will lead to certain improvisation of the business situation for the organization.

1. Subway and the reason it is falling:
After reading the post it can be said that the discussion in this paper is holistic. The
paper has raised different relevant points those are directly connected with the downfall of
subway. These factors include the sex charge against CEO of Subway, presence of too many
subway shops in the locality which is cutting their own profit and the inappropriate food
ingredients used in the food products. All these causes are described with proper
justifications. Apart from that necessity of the rebranding is mentioned in the paper along
with the proper justification. Apart from that according to the discussion, degradation of the
raw materials of making food has affected the goodwill of the subway in a negative way.
However, mention of CATWOE framework has been mentioned in this paper, but the
application is not done in a proper way. The points those are raised in the paper are valid
however, those can be arranged properly through CATWOE framework.
Apart from that the paper has discussed certain solutions for the improvement of the
business situation for subway. After analysing the paper, it can be said all the critical
information are present and the justified solutions of the problems and the issues are done
accordingly. The mention of the system thinking tool like CATWOE. The definition and the
use of CATWOE has been mentioned, however, the categorization in the framework has not
been mentioned in the paper. The categorization of the identified issues through CATWOE is
needed to be done in this context. This will help in the proper application of the system
thinking tools.
2. Operations management:
The operation management of the RetailCo has been discussed in this paper. The main
focus is to evaluate the higher supply chain management cost of RetailCo through system

thinking tools. The discussion regarding the problem with supply chain management has been
discussed in details. In this context, it has been identified that the main problem with the
supply chain management is raised from the procurement management. The supply of the raw
materials gap between the raw materials and coordination of the received orders are not
achieved in this. This increases the problems in the inventory management.
The discussion regarding the higher cost of supply chain management is done in a
proper way. However, only one problem is identified in this context that is the higher cost of
supply chain management. This makes the discussion saturated at a particular domain.
The system thinking approach has been initiated to solve this problem in the
discussion. The discussion regarding the approach of the system thinking approach can be
done in more appropriate way. The supplication of the system thinking tool CATWOE has
not been applied in this section. The identification of the one problem and the solution of the
problem has been discussed. However, there was a need for the application of system
thinking tool. The high cost of the supply chain management can related to the other factors
like improper management strategy. Those problems are not highlighted in a broader way.
Overall it can be said that the paper has discussed one of the factors regarding the high cost of
supply chain management and has provided the solution of that problem. However the system
thinking approach using tool has done carried out in proper way in the discussion. The
inclusion of system thinking tool can enhance the discussion.
