Introduction
The report is based on analyzing the background of the issue related to the non-military drone.
An unnamed drone is an aircraft without a human pilot on board and this type of unmade vehicle
is a component of the unmanned aircraft system. It is the major issue while civilians are use
drones in everyday life such as safety, security, and privacy. It is also important for drone user is
to follow all the rules and regulations and some people have a recreational hobby which has
potential cause damage to others in the privacy manner (Durkheim, 2018). The main purpose of
the assignment is to resolve all ethical dilemmas and issues with the help of different ethical
theories such as utilitarian, deontology, charter based and social contract theory. Such theories
help in eliminating all issues which are related to the ethics and privacy of an individual.

Ethical analysis
It is the systematic approach and method which helps in identifying the right moral decisions in a
specific situation. This is the principle that motivates and encourages a person to form an
accurate image of the situation and review the effect of the decision before implementation.
There are various theories related to ethics which are described as under:
Utilitarianism
It is the normative ethical theories which take place in identifying right and wrong results or
outcome of the specific technology and also choosing one of the action and policies which is best
suitable for the issue. It is that theory which differs from ethical theories that make the rightness
or wrongness of action of the Utilitarian (Parker, 2017). Utilitarian is an ethical theory that
determines the right from wrong to concentrate on outcomes. This holds most of the ethical
choice which is one that will produce the greatest good for the greatest number. It is a major
framework that can be used to justify military force or war. This theory will help in identify
ethical issues related to drone vehicles. For the discussion, a drone will be defined as an
unnamed airborne vehicle without a pilot on board. It may be navigated by remote control and by
onboard computers by several individuals. In the context of drone, the major issue is that an
action is wrong which can lead became bad outcomes. If action is good so this will provide good
or effective results. For instance, using semi-autonomous and autonomous drones to conduct
recon on rival and competitor force is good because this will eliminate the need for friendly
forces to get closer to the enemy and became engaged. This theory will help the drone
technology to enhance their business and government and international nongovernment
organization operation in a better manner.
This drone technology creates an ethical issue that can be resolved by applying such theory in
business concerns. With the help of such theory, the businesses and government can analyze that
it will help in increasing the morality of life by enhancing the number of good outcomes in the
world and reduces the number of bad things (Lyons, 2015). This is required for the developer of
the nonmilitary drone is to focus on the utility and effectiveness of such drone which should be
suitable for the daily life. Also, it does not create damage and harm to another person for the
usage of the drone of their motive. There is various use of non-military drone such as transport

medicines and medical technology in a faster manner. Besides this, it will assist the government
in assessing disaster areas where nature is to create a bad impact on the society people. For this,
they can easily provide the necessary services and facilities to the person in respective areas.
This Utilitarian theory also assists in identifying what is right or wrong condition and always
selects the right direction for better opportunities for the people.
Deontology
It is the ethical theory that places special emphasis on the relationship between duty and
responsibility of human actions. In this theory, an action is considered as amorally good because
of some of the characteristics of the action itself but not because of the item which performs a
good act. For eliminating such dilemma, this theory helps in getting good results when they are
interacting with each other regarding such issues. The ethical emerges as the result of the
communication of how the drone is used by a user in contrast with how those who experience to
use the drone are influenced by the actions (Durkheim, 2018). The deontological ethical theory
stresses the significance of the act itself in judging the right and wrong activities. This requires
adherence and need to understand some moral laws and duties which should be applicable for the
drone. To overcome such an ethical issue related to the drone, a person needs to use rules which
define wrong or wrong situations and they need to follow only the right instructions. This theory
often associated with the philosopher who follows such rules and regulations. Deontological
ethical theory suggests to not violating ethical rulers and legislations for doing fast work. The
rules make deontological theory effective and easy to apply but it means that disregarding the
possible results of the actions at the time of selecting what is right and wrong.
Social contract
This theory determines that people live together in the community and society following the
argument which establishes the political and moral rules of attitude or behavior. Some people
believe that they are living in the social contract and live along with following all the moral
duties and do not create harm to the ethics of the society in any manner (Giardullo, 2018). Over
the past decades, the philosophers are said that the ideal social contract needs to be followed by
all government, business, and any person. Apart from this, there are various military drones in
the military. This can be used to protect the lives of the military men and women and they will be
armed with live video remote interactions to ground troops, weapons, and essential gear. This

will help in tracking unnecessary activities by terrorist and other attackers to the countries. The
social contract theory helps in identify social ethics which is protecting the lives of persons in the
community as well as military members. There are various social-ethical issues are arising with
the non-military drone such as if a person flies a drone in the park to take pictures as a hobby and
for artistic purposes (Thomas, 2016). So its results may not be in favor of ethics and create a bad
impact on another person.
For this social contract theory used for maintains and manage all social issues which are under
government and they are not worried about various ethical issues. This theory helps in
eliminating all the ethical issues related to the non-military drone which flies to transfer
vegetables to one place to another by an individual for their self-benefit. But sometime this
technology will create harm to other people because it is the possibility that another person stalks
an individual who is not ethically good and violate the privacy policy. Civilians and commercials
have used a drone for property management companies may include surveillance around malls
and monitor and control all road traffics or delivery food package. The uses of drones create
issues which are related to collecting data about individual near a mall or in road traffic. This is
the issue related to the privacy of a person.
Character-based
In this, ethics are the set of actions and values of an individual or group of people. It is also
known as virtue ethics and it is mainly focused on determining what makes a person, or charter
and good things rather than what makes an action effective. Virtue ethics argue on a good person
who consistently performs good activities. These will help in seeking the greatest advantages
from actions and decisions. It evaluates the proper and most desirable goals and process of
performing necessary actions which are undertaken and associated. Virtue ethics is an agent-
based approach and it is mainly focused on the fundamental motivations and charter of a person's
moral agent (Kangasniemi, 2015). This is requiring for drone user is to not break the moral and
ethical rule which is describing in this virtue ethical theory. The virtue ethics has three major
approaches in normative ethics and it may be identified as one of the emphasis the virtues or
moral attributes. Most of the non-military ethics are hybrids that demonstrate the multiple ethical
theories which are usually based on a primary model of virtue ethics. It is suitable for operating
and regulating the conduct of soldiers who have to make decisions on the battlefield in the

context of a military drone. Virtue ethics theory helps in analyzing the charter, behavior, and
attitude of an individual who uses a drone with the permission of the government. If they are
performed illegal work with such drone so the government gives them punishment for the same.
ACS Code of Ethics
The ACS code of ethics is the part of the ACS constitution. The professional person needs to
upload and advance the honor of the professional i8n the arts and science of information
processing programming (Winland-Brown, 2015). There is various ethical code of conduct in the
ACS (Australian Computer Society’s) are as under:
The primary of the public interest – It will take precedence over the person in the context of
code. This will help in resolving all issues and problems of common people in a better manner
and save the environment as well as the public.
The increasing quality of life – In this, ICT development has a direct impact on society and it is
impacted in a good manner. There are some negative impacts of ICT which create a major issue
for the businesses. For this, they are promoting equal access to the benefits of ICT by all society
members.
Professional development – It is important for an individual is to keep updated and upgraded
with new technologies that are useful for performing work and encourage their staff members to
do the same thing.
Honesty – A person should be honest, with the skills, knowledge, services, and facilities which
are provided to the public. They need to conduct specific ethics that help them in performing
good work in a better manner.
These are such code of ethics which are described above. According to the ACS ethics rules, the
person must have to keep public interest, professional development, and enhancement of quality
of life in their work. Such codes of ethics will help them in performing better work related to
drone functioning effectively. The ACS rules do not allow businesses or governments to deliver
wrong actions and perform unnecessary activities that are creating harm to the public interest.
They use non-military drones by applying different theories that evaluate wrong or right results.

Conclusion
As per the above-mentioned project, it can be concluded that ethics is the set of actions that
determine right or wrong actions that are performed by an individual. This report will analyze the
ethical issue related to the non-military drone which has a various ethical problem if a person can
use it in open areas without taking permission. There are various theories such as deontology,
utilitarian, charter based ethics and virtue ethics which help resolve all issues associated with
ethics. This can be used to protect the lives of the military men and women and they will be
armed with live video remote interactions to ground troops, weapons, and essential gear. This
drone technology creates an ethical issue that can be resolved by applying such theory in
business concerns. With the help of such theory, the businesses and government can analyze that
it will help in increasing the morality of life by enhancing the number of good outcomes in the
