Introduction
Increasing number of vehicles has made it necessary for more surveillance to reduce the
number of accidents and to ease the traffic congestion of the city. The police has taken up
various technological advancement to keep a close surveillance on the various aspect of the city.
This particular paper deals with the justification technology of drones which will be used to keep
close monitoring on the traffic and also be used in the events of accidents such as fire,
earthquake or landslide. The justification of the usage of the technology lies in the efficiency of
it.
Summary of the Technology
The drones have been used from inception for various rescue operations and natural
calamities. Even in recent times it is seen that drones are also used for delivering products in the
various locations and Amazon has already started the pilot test of the technology. However the
highest usage of the drones have been in the field of surveillance and monitoring. High definition
cameras are fitted in the drones and the cameras are pointed at various angles. Drones are also
used for filming and shooting purposes of documentaries and films. Videos of large crowds,
huge buildings and wild life can be taken very nicely with the help of the drones.
Justification of the technology used
Aerial surveillance is the best option when it comes to surveillance over large areas. The
traffic department has to be aware about the live traffic condition in the city at all instances.
Therefore, the drones can give real time feed about the position of the vehicles and condition of
traffic at the various roads and situation of traffic. This will help the traffic administration in
diverting traffic from the regions of excessive traffic to the substitute roads where there is lesser

pressure of traffic. Thus the drones will be immensely helpful to the traffic police departments
and the various other civic departments that are working in towards traffic and crowd control.
Regular aerial surveillance on the different areas of the city will ensure that sudden fire or
similar incidences can be reported in the proper time. The sudden accidents will be detected in
the proper time and that will help in bringing the emergency services in the correct time. This
will be helpful in saving lives of the people and animal from such calamities.
Conclusion
There are too many casualties related to the incident therefore the need of better
surveillance mechanism. The drone will considerably improve the law and order of the country
because the criminal activities of the cities can also be monitored through the drones which will
be flying all around the city at various locations. Anyone can buy the drones for private usage to
keep vigilance around their own house or properties. In future it is expected that the functionality
of the drones will be increased and various information like temperature or speed of the vehicles
on the roads and streets.
