INTRODUCTION
The occurrence of drugs offense among young and teenagers is high in, Wales, however
there are different initiatives already implemented by the government in order to improve the rate
in a city of UK. Recently in 2022, drug dealer caught with 800 wraps of heroine and Cocaine in
Swansea due to increasing drug abuse cases (Drug dealers caught with 800 wraps of heroin and

Thus, the present study will also highlight the statistics related to drug abuse among
teenager within Wales and for that quantitative data methodology has been used that provide
authentic results. Also, study will organize in such a manner that under section 2, scholar use
secondary resources that helps to develop an understanding pertaining to causes of drug abuse
among teenagers and then in section 3, research methodology, it determines the method used to
answer research question. Further, section 4 comprises results based upon primary and then in
last section recommendations will be drawn that help to provide way to minimise issue.
Aim
The aim of the research is to determine the causes of drug offense among young people
that lead towards crime and its risk within Swansea, Wales.
Objectives
 To identify the reasons that lead to increase the drug offense among Swansea teenagers.

The rationale for conducting the research on this topic is such that it is consider one of
the common issue that affect the entire life of young people and as a result, the risk associated
with the offense is also increases. With the help of present study, researcher will determine the
causes of drug offense among young and as a result different ways will be provided in order to
improve the same.
The researcher will determine the statistics related to drug offense as a crime and the
results it create in society. In this, researcher’s contribution is to understand the key aspects and
with the help of effective sources, hypothesis can be proved
LITERATURE REVIEW
The secondary source reflected that across England and Wales, there are main three cities
where overdose of dug identified which include Lancashire, Swansea and Neath Port Talbot.
Decorte, Lenton and Wilkins (2020) investigated that the causes of drug offense among young is
poor family history, mental health disorder, lack of family involvement etc. For that they,
actually stole money, murder people and it can be stated that people start organise criminal
activities in the support of the drug trade. Also, there are major causes of drug offense because
most of the people started addictive of drug and for that they perform many illegal or criminal
activities. Knorre (2020) shared that drug trafficking and anti-social behaviour is consider as a
major drug offense in the UK and that is why, different laws has been also provided that help to
protect the people from such. As per the article of wales, it has been analysed that drug
trafficking is increases sharply in Swansea since the first lockdown in Wales. It is so because

problems. Moreover, damage in a brain always affect the entire mental system of the individuals
and that is why, there is a need to make decision and create better outcome.
Moreover, Gray and et.al., (2021) reflected in their study that there are only negative
consequences highlight when a young people perform drugs offense such that they are more
likely to struggle in their future life because of brain damage and as per the defined law, they
have a sentence of jail. However, there are different behavioural problems that also increases the
risk of social problems that include depression, suicidal thoughts which might provoke
individual to lead to death. This in turn ruin the entire life of the people because bail is also not
possible in this case. Apart from this, keeping different type of drugs and consume the same is
also related to drug crime and most of the supplier lead to murder as well when they took an
overdose of the same.
METHODOLOGY
Research type: In the present study only quantitative data analysis has been performed
that help to evaluate the numbers and figures related to crime. Also, with the help of chosen
methodology, scholar understand the trend and views pertaining to the chosen issue in order to
evaluate the results (Goldstein, 2022). Moreover, in order to prove the hypothesis, only
quantitative study is considered as a reliable source as compared to qualitative.
Data collection: In the present study both primary and secondary data collection has been
used in order to generate a better outcome pertaining to the crime. Such that under primary,
survey method has been used through the means of questionnaire. Under this, 25 drug supplier
experts work under the regulatory bodies from Swansea has been chosen in order to determine
their views pertaining to chosen topic. With respect to questionnaire, scholar design questions
related to chosen research questions only and determine the relationship of causes of drug
offense and its associated risk (Singh, 2022). On the other side, under secondary data collection

method, scholar uses relevant books, article and government website that provide a clear
information related to the drug abuse among teenagers so that relevant information can be used
in order to develop brief thesis.
Data analysis: Once the data will be collected then analysis performed and in the present
study, SPSS software has been used that derive authentic results. Further, with this help of this
data analysis technique, scholar uses statistical as well as inferential tool that helps to prove the
results and answer the research questions effectually (Daniel, 2022).
