b) Background
1.2 Nature of the overall engineering project
I was appointed as a production engineer in one of the Dubai located rubber
company where I had to take care of the production and management of the engineering
practices and contribute in the development and growth of the products of high quality. I
was assigned to the refinery section where I had to execute the vulcanizing process of the
rubbers and establish a system that is much more efficient than traditional ones. I had to
recover the maximum amount of the struck salt from the rubber samples.
1.3 Objective of the project
Following were the objectives set for the successful delivery of the project in the
organization:
To conserve the critical consumable item produced by the rubber wastes in the
rubber factory
To execute the vulcanizing process in efficient and effective manner
Enhance the quality of the rubber being produced

To convert the waste materials into valuable products and thus, increase the
budget of the project
1.4 Nature of your particular work area
I was assigned for managing the refinery section of the industry where I had to
utilize my engineering and management skills for improving and enhancing the output of
the organization. I had to conserve the critical consumable items produced by the wastes
of the rubber and improve the quality of the output. I reviewed the overall model,
identified certain problems in the design, and thus, eliminated those problems in manner
to increase the value and quality of the products being produced.

1.6 Statement of your duties
I was responsible for assuring that the wastes are completely being utilized and
the quality of the rubber being utilized in an effective and efficient manner. I had to
monitor and audit the overall functioning of the refinery section assuring that the
members involved in the project are successfully delivering their area of work. I had to
technically analyze the amount of the salt left aftereffect utilize them for the benefits of
the organization. I had assure that every activity is focusing on the delivery of the
enhanced quality of the rubber.
c) Personal Workplace Activity
CE1.7 Technical details of the work
I used the refinery methods for the extraction of the excess salt from the created
waste and assure that the quality of the developed rubber is an effective and efficient
approach. I analyzed the whole functioning of the machines and upgraded them with an
additional rod that helped in enhancing the efficiency of the rubber collection. I had to
limit the excess salt present above the surface of the rubber in manner to enhance the
quality of the developed product and assure that the activities are being accomplished
with higher efficiency.
CE1.8 How you applied your engineering knowledge and skills
I identified that major quantity of struck salt is recovered by dropping water on it.
However small quantity remains struck to the surface and thus it causes huge loss of
expensive salt, moreover dull surface appearance. I implemented few modifications in the
available mechanism which had 10 rollers earlier which is continuously Rotate which dip
Profile into the hot molten salt tank. Afterward it goes to chilled water tank. I observed

that profile has been slightly in tension when puller pulls profile. Therefore, I applied two
rod with rotate mode at different sections where profile had more stress aftereffect profile

I managed the meetings and communication between the important key
stakeholders involved within the organization and assured that everyone has been

guidance whenever they needed. I managed their activities through practicing my
managerial and leadership skills that helped in delivering the objectives of the project.

them
I identified that the waste products available after refining can be conserved and
could possibly serve some purpose to the organization. Therefore, I audited the machines
and rods being utilized in this refinery process. I identified that profile has been slightly

I was working in a team, where proper communication and conflict management
was necessary for the collaborative and group work. I tried to manage the roles and
responsibilities of the individuals working under my guidance. I always keep them
motivated and always tried to communicate with them and solve their problems, if they
are facing any during the execution of the project.
d) Summary
CE1.13 your view of the overall project
The project was successfully delivered that resulted in the profit of $ 800 USD
and enhances the standard and quality of the project. The implementation of the
additional rod was helpful in resulting the enhancement of the efficiency and results of
the change being implemented.
CE1.14 how the project fared in meeting the goals/requirements
The project effectively utilized the waste produced during the vulcanization
process and it is helpful in enhancing the benefits for the organization. I implemented the
changes that resulted in positive manner.
