3.1 Over the years, we have held various events in Sydney and the venue that never
disappoints is the Dalton House Darling side, Sydney; apart from providing the best all round
services, it has an ideal location with additional facilities to meet the needs of the meeting. The
venue has some of the best dinners for conferences and our past records show that guests have been
more than happy, given conference dinners always have challenges with quality. The location is just
right for this type of conference, with a waterfront location with views of the city skyline and the
Sydney harbor. The facility has a theater, spacious multi functional and modern meeting rooms,
quality audio visual systems, a ballroom, various casinos, bars, restaurants, and a main events space
that can comfortably sit 750 people or up to 1500 cocktail guests ('Doltone House', 2018). In
addition, the facility has breakout rooms as well as general meeting rooms. In line with our
objective and following the industry best practices in gala events hosting (McCarthy, 2018), we
wish to offer you the very best at competitive rates and this is why we recommend the Dalton
House Darling side, Sydney
4.0 Format and Duration, Program and Speakers
The program has been developed to reflect the needs of the AAPM that fits with the profile
and image of the AAPM. The program has been designed to;

• Attract members of the profession as well as non members
• Showcase five prominent people as speakers for every day of the event
• Develop people’s interest in project management as a management strategy
• Attract people’s interests in project management as a profession or an additional qualification to
their resumes
• Show educational and training opportunities for project management and the relevant industry

• Show attendees various paths one can follow to become a practitioner of project management
• Provide attendees opportunities to engage with each other as much as possible, especially non
members to engage with members
• Give presentations that showcase why Melbourne is an excellent business location
• Allow project managers time to make a presentation on why companies should adopt the project
driven management style
• Provide attendees opportunities for professional interaction
• Provide presentation sessions that fir in with the theme of the event and the theme of the day

4.2 Room and facilities use
The planners recommend that the event duration lasts at least two days during which
attendees will have an option to interact and mingle and attend other ancillary functions on the
evening prior to the gala night and the evening immediately after the major conference. The
program has various activities, including non core activities to be undertaken during the event as
depicted in the schedule and charts under section 4.3;

Decor and Dress
Formal black and white, any style allowed; tuxedos, dinner dress, bow tie and suit (Strutzin,
2012); the theme will be formal dim white lighting and there will be a band playing in the
background to set the mood. Tablecloths and screamers will be black for an elegant unique
atmosphere.
