This paper aims at reviewing the latest annual report of the Dupont on the issue of pollution
prevention principles and sustainability. Currently, there are lots of debates over the potential role
that industries can take in preventing the pollution that comes from their manufacturing
processes. This paper outlines the Dupont goal regarding pollution prevention and sustainability.

Dupont Sustainability Report Review
The latest Dupont sustainability report cited various progress against their 2020 goals
plan. The sustainability goals plan touched on their continuous engagement in areas like food
environmental stewardship, security, plus diversity and inclusion. This paper will be a short
review of their annual report.
Dupont Goal Plan
In ("Sustainability Reports | DuPont | DuPont USA", 2017), the company’s 2020 P2 and
sustainability goal is to attain reduction of 7% greenhouse gas emissions and 10% energy
intensity by 2020. The company’s food security goal is to invest $10 billion in R&D and also
launch 4,000 new products. The 2020 goal also stretches towards education and engagement of 2
youths. Also, they’re to improve the livelihoods a minimum of 3 million farmers in addition to
their rural communities.
Adequacy of The Report
P2 and sustainability are about economic, social, and environmental progress (Krosinsky,
Robins & Viederman, 2012). Regarding environmental progress, P2 and sustainability
contribution is pretty straightforward. The company has the ambition to reduce gas emissions by
7% and energy intensity by 10%.
Regarding economic sustainability, this is more about greater efficiency. It simply means less
waste. Obviously, where there is less waste, more material going to the finished products. The
Dupont effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions one contribution. However, they need to focus
on saving energy too. They can do this by focusing on the useful life of their cars, use of
computers and any other energy-consuming machines.

Lastly, P2 also stretches towards sustainable communities. This one involves bringing
avenues for community engagement and livelihood improvement. Dupont has worked on this too
they are also planning to facilitate engagement and education of 2 million youths. Besides, they
have a plan to improve the livelihood of 3 million farmers and their rural communities. This
effort will improve economic status and the local environment, but still, pollution prevention
helps most in building community relations.
