organizational task. In recent time, I directed 25 members of the people who are working in the

Introduction
The report has discussed concepts and strengths of leadership. It also reflects the feature as well
as personal traits that could be required for a leader. This report is effective to know weakness as
well as strengths of mine. This report also discusses the action plan for improving my leadership
skills.
Concept of leadership
Leadership is the method that could enable to lead the team for the attainment of organizational
objectives. In my life, I got many opportunities that could be essential for reshaping my
personality. From the use of leadership skills, I conducted suitable behaviour with my teammates
to the different culture of people and get positive responses. A leader of the team could face
many issues at the time of operating the business acts (Koryak, Mole, Lockett, Hayton,
Ucbasaran, & Hodgkinson, 2015).
Leadership journey
A leader of the group is liable for conducting different role and instructs to their teammates for
the meeting of the organizational task (Pearce & Wassenaar, 2014). Initially, a leader could make
trust among employees to reach the conclusion. Recently, I was the team leader of a retail
organization in the communication department. Hence, it is compulsory for me that I should have
sound communication skills due to managing the teammates and operate them in the right
direction. In my team, approximate 25 people were enrolled. Since, last 12 months, I direct the
team and work as a leader. My leadership journey taught me many things as some are positive
while some were negative. It could directly affect the growth of my career. It was quite difficult
for me to significantly lead diverse cultural people and satisfied each individual effectively (Farh

problems that could be related to the conflict that could be affected by the overall performance of
the firm. In the recent period, I was close to my member that was quite effective for the group as
well as affecting to each member of the team. I observed many problems at the time of working
in the group that affected to performance of people. I conduct meetings in a week for evaluating
the performance of my teammates but I observed that this meeting could make panic to the
employee s towards the target. I decided to make stress free atmosphere in the working place
hence I stop to conduct a meeting in seven days. Now I decided to do it in 15 days and try to
encourage each teammate positively. I also observed that teammates could be an imperative part
of a team and supported to each member for making a decision effectively. The key purpose of
using the meeting is to improve the behaviours of other teammates and make a decision in favour
of organizational growth. I enhanced my skills of leadership to reflect my leadership traits which
supported to meet the particular aim and objectives of the research matter. I practiced a particular
leadership style for the leader to improve the reliability of the business process. I used a 360-
degree feedback structure tool that facilitates to eliminate the drawbacks of my team and make a
decision effectively. This technique will allow accomplishing the aim and objectives of research
concern. I also conduct effective communication to my teammates and try to be friendly with
them as it facilitates to manage the conflict at the workplace and supported to have decision
effectively. Conflict is an issue that enables to manage the conflict at the working place and
supported to increase the productivity of the firm (Schoemaker, Heaton, & Teece, 2018).

This tool is used to examine the weakness and strengths of mine that would be effective to
imperative my personality and supported to get higher competitive advantages. The result could

enable to me effectively identify my diverse strengths and make a decision in favor of concern. It
can be lead me to make an effective leadership development plan. It is illustrated that this
technique is used to simply communicate with others (Lopez-Cabrales, Bornay-Barrachina, &
Diaz-Fernandez, 2017). Further, it is illustrated that the key purpose of this test is to conduct
effective communication both others and get positive responses. It was effective for operating the
business and supported to make a transparent relationship with others. This technique could also
be effective for making the decision in the context of the organization. I analyzed that this tool is
being restorative as it would be imperative in employee retention. Moreover, the ability can
enable to make a reliable solution on many issues. I worked on the issue of group people that
enables to enhance the trust among the team as well as improve the competitiveness.
Leadership development plan
Leadership is imperative tool in offering the opportunity to determine my abilities, drawbacks,
and strengths (Wolfgramm, Flynn-Coleman, & Conroy, 2015). It could enable to meet long as
well as short term period. It can be vital in eliminating my weakness and make liable to become
a successful leader in the upcoming period. I used Whittman GROW model to improve my
weakness by critically evaluating my personality.
Whittman GROW model
Goal setting (G):
Goal setting is the initial step of any work that will be operated in the future. It is illustrated that I
made both short and long term objectives due to getting data in favour of research matter.
Initially, I decided both short as well as long term goal which could be supported to me as well
as my teammate to work in one direction that would be effective in obtaining the research task.
In the upcoming period, our teammates will be work on one objective that would be effective for

the attainment of the organizational task. I lead my teammates on behalf of the situation. I tried
to expand my teammates in the future by enhancing the team members to complete the work in
less time. In this, I would also be accountable for increasing the group member capability. A
group member can be accountable to make customer relationship and retain them for the long
term by completing their expectation (Drescher, Korsgaard, Welpe, Picot, & Wigand, 2014).
Reality (R):
I led to 25 members in the group in the accomplishment of aim and objectives. I lead them to
make a favourable decision. I observed that the communication section of the firm is new as well
as the responsibilities of each member are different which could develop the conflict among
teammates which would decline the interest of workforces towards their allocated work. It would
also affect the overall productivity of the organization. Therefore, I was responsible for
informing each workforce towards their allocated work (Tucker, & Lam, 2014). The leader could
also informer each employee how to meet the task of the firm that would be supported to get a
higher result. It is illustrated that my teammates were meet their targeted goal in the particular
time that was a big achievement for me as well as my teammate. We have saved our cost as well
as time that was imperative for our future growth. My mentor always leads to me towards many
acts and mandate to me to consider some skills for leading my teammates that could be effective
to meet the organizational task (Peters-Hawkins, L., Reed, & Kingsberry, 2018).
Obstacles (O):
As a team leader, I faced many issues that affected me as well as my productivity. I analyzed that
leadership competition is being a major concern in the current era that affected the overall
performance of the team. A person who is hired in the company for leading a team could be
accountable for the performance of each teammate hence I should need to concentrate on all

employee and tried to improve their performance effectively. It is also founded that a small
mistake of communication section could affect the overall performance hence I was responsible
for it. Therefore, I tried my best to avoid the small mistake of employees in the communication
section and improving the productivity of the organization (Sotarauta, 2016).
The way forward (W):
It is a significant phase for GROW approach that could be implied for enhancing the leadership
competencies. This phase is effective to assess techniques about solving concerns associated
with stated obstacles (Pechlaner, et al., 2014). It is addressed that the company may make sure
that the team has needed to execute a feasible tool. According to existing performance, I
perceived that my team members would attain 130% of target. It is addressed that a successful
leader takes into consideration the growth of the team. A company can also provide the
opportunity to different department hence they can be competent for enhancing their
competencies (Ford & Harding, 2018). I also feel responsible for performance related to group
as well as, I would strive for becoming the best performer at the workplace. I would also use
different sources such as offline and online sources to develop my own competencies. I will
participate in different workshops associated with leadership to lead a large number of customers
and attains the goals of the company without any disagreement. It is identified that several
workshops can lead me to enhance my competencies as well as, skills (Kostovski, Bojadjiev, &
Buldioska, 2015). It is observed that the company faces high rivalry in the workplace. It is only
my performance that can be supportive for avoiding the obstacles of a company as it is only my
performance (Lloyd, Clegg & Crouch, 2015).
In order to make an improvement in my team performance, I have enhanced my skills and
focuses on obtaining reliable and valid outcomes. For this, I have acquired feedback of my

colleagues and mentors to enhance my weakness that is only possible through gathering the
feedback with my seniors (Manz, Skaggs, Pearce, & Wassenaar, 2015).
It will be beneficial for me to increase the extent of rivalry and enhancing the opportunities about
getting leadership in upcoming time (Higgs & Dulewicz, 2016). I am also responsible to assess
each procedure of the communication department in order to sustain their organization. I also
talked with the PR and marketing department together with comprehended their performance for
attaining the aim as well as objectives of research concerns. Therefore, I have set goals for
members who are within my group. According to a leadership development plan, I would
consistently perform to enhance my efficiency and effectiveness and it aids to attain my
objectives.
Conclusion
Throughout the above evaluation, it can be concluded that leadership is beneficial for attaining
my goal and objectives in a significant way. This course was beneficial for me because it enables
me to overcome my weakness as well as improving leadership competencies, which would lead
to sustain my position within an organization in the future. I also addressed that a leader can be
responsible for several accountabilities to meet the organizational task in a systematic manner.
