feedback thought process which helps the student to improve its skills and qualities regarding
being a great, dynamic and inspiring leader. The assignment talks about the importance of the
leadership qualities. What qualities the student is having and what he is not having. How the
student should deal with the feedback and how he should develop the missing skills.

Introduction
My journey as leader was very hectic. It was first time that I did something like this. I
have to develop many skills that only a good leaders have. Although in the process I made many
mistakes and those mistakes became my greatest lessons. A leader is a person who influences a
mass of community. They are directed to achieve a goal. One who leads and the rest of the crowd
follows. They are learner, achiever and motivators who takes all the decision for their people. I
learned about five major skills of a leader. They should be flexible. Its not important that how
they have planned things will execute in the same manner. Competitors, government rules, new
business regulation all these may deviate the goal process and the end result. So a leader should
be well prepared to be flexible with their plans (Gosain, Agarwal & Siwach, 2016).
A good leader should be able to communicate, they should be a good orator. A good
communicator motivates the team well. The communication helps in sharing their thoughts with
their co worker and able to maintain transparent relation. This is an opportunity to show their
strength through this process, by empowering their people and defining the goals of the
company. The next is Patience the major stone of the foundation. How long can one wait for the
positive result. How well can a leader handle pressure and still being patience for the result. It is
not easy to show a cheerful face when the situation is not under control. But a leader should learn
this skill. The two other skills are the humility and responsibility. The major part played by the
character of a leader. Can the person be responsible for the deed he is doing. Does the person
have sense of humbleness to prove that he is capable of understanding the problems of others.
These two characteristic is very important for the development of a good leader. A leader should
have courage, tenacity, patience and humility. The courage that can give him strength to stand
alone, is able to sustain any level of pressure and understand his responsibility. All these
qualities help a leader to dictate their employees to achieve the goals with positive attitude. In
my view also these are the most important skills that a leader should have to be able to
successfully achieve their goals. In this process I realized that I lacked many of these skills
making me an incomplete leader. I am going to develop these skills to be able to achieve my
dreams (Hallinger et al, 2015).
I always wanted to experiment my leadership qualities. How well can I be able
implement my skills to develop a new plan. The execution, development and the journey towards

the goals is the most important phase of leadership. My life was very simple, I had simple
routine to follow every day. But after joining this course I am able to see the bigger picture of
becoming a self sufficient person. My goal in life is to be a good and great leader. The skills to
mould the thought process of others can make me a successful leader in future. I am a good
orator and this is one of the most important skills for motivating the people under me. I want to
be a successful entrepreneur in future and for this I want to have all the skill of an entrepreneur.
I took the Gallup strength test and leadership test to understand my strengths and
weakness. I found out that I have good communication skills which can make me a good
motivator. A motivator can bend the flow of any power of people towards the desired goal.
Assertiveness is a perception that I have to develop. How well can I understand the positive
points of anything are also very important (Krasnoff, 2015).
Through the test I was able to understand my weakness as well. I need to develop skills to
make correct decision. I have all the wrong attitude towards the work. Sometimes I leave the
work due to wrong decision making. To be critical and to develop a critical thinking will help me
taking correct decision for the business. I also lack in maintain a correct relationship with
anyone. I am not good a keep the relationship long and happy. My nature is liable for this, with
the correct methods I will be able to improve my stance (Black, 2015).
For this I need to have the feedback of others. A constructive feedback is a method to
give feedback to someone. It may lead to improvements of certain qualities or subjective in a
person or thing. Constructive feedback helps in enhancing the personal and professional growth
of a person or a thing or a situation. It also improves the morale, eliminates the confusion and
develops a positive attitude.
The feedbacks that I received are based on my skills, attitude, personality and leadership
qualities. How I am as a leader and how well can I handle a team got a good rating from those
who reviewed my work. There was a instance in my life when I was very bad at handling work
and it only improved after I studied future and learned more skills from the experience. What is
my strength and weakness. Capabilities of taking the responsibilities, completing the work on
time with efficiency was also reviewed by my peer and I lacked at these points very badly. I

realized that my weakness of understanding the importance of work delivery on time (Owens,
Call, & Vincent, 2017).
The development of the skills to effectively complete the work on time and to complete it
with accuracy is also a major part of leadership qualities. The person who has been into these
actions is always good at these skills. I realized that I am not as good as I understand myself to
be. The other factor for a good leader is the skill of having excellent interpersonal and social
skills. The more a person is emotionally intelligent the better it can handle other people. As a
leader one has to be handle people, tackle situations and give directions. This is continuous
process and this needs a lot of experience for a person to master these skills. A talented manger
can bring the business from loss to profit and also increase productivity without pressurizing the
work force. It came out of the peer review that if I develop all the required skills and capabilities
than I shall be able to perform twice as good as I am doing now.
Managers with more talent are great brand ambassadors. An organizations thing that its
managers are responsible for helping other employees to understand importance of the brand
promise. And they also know how to deliver it. A leader should know what sets their work apart
from other specially form their own competitors. Leaders hire manager based on their talents and
in the same way an organisation hire their leaders based on the required talent. A well
established leader knows how to use their strengths and bring the desired outcome. As a talented
manager I needs to think the solution to any problem differently. They know how to develop
their employees and whom to hire and who to fire. These review helped me understand where I
lack. I need to learn many thing and these qualities will improve only with experience and
correct learning. I think the leaders approach to impact the engagement has profound impact on
everything (Higgs & Dulewicz, 2016).
By the review I came to know about my self confidence level. The realization that not
only qualities but also self development is important for overall leadership perspective. To
disciple myself to be able to control my urge. A disciplined leader can win any battle. My
learning from these review have made me understand the importance of self control. My
confidence level will only boost if I am able to know things better. I need to be problem focused
person. To solve the problem I need to learn properly about the problem. I have to learn to talk
about the situation and not the person (Conger, 2015).

There are times when I have to face situations that are not pleasing and I get very angry
loosed my temper and ultimately fails. I got a negative review regarding my ability of controlling
the situations. When I received feedbacks which were not liked by me I felt bad but somehow I
realized that it is only for my benefit and by working on these lacking qualities I will be able to
achieve my goals. There are many interpersonal and social skills that person should have. At
least a manager or a leader should have these skills. To be able to create a relationship and to
maintain a healthy relation is two different things. A person can be able to make relationship
instantly but to maintain it of long term is not possible for him. How positively can I be able to
maintain the relation so that it gives me gains in future. In a business one needs to know whom
they should do friendship and whom they should avoid. This can help in developing strong roots
in the market. I also got a mixed review on my ability to lead a team. I was very over confident
that I have power to make people follow me (Hernandez, 2018) . I can lead a team and can
successfully get the desired goals achieved. But after the feedback I realized that my persuasive
strength are not as good as I think. This needs to be improved.
For all the lack of the qualities I have realized from the feedback will be over come after
my rigorously training. I will be working hard my skills. By taking lessons and reading books of
great leaders I will be able to understand the key points that need to be followed. I am not
complete man and there are many problems in me. specially when I need to think about the skills
in respect of a great manager or a leader. Where I lack and why I lack has to be eliminated. This
can be a long process and a great leader is made only after huge experience (Jin, Meng & Berger,
2017).
Leadership can be a different for different people, but in a business leadership means
leading the whole business process. A leader is not lonely limited to his duties he has to work on
every aspect that is in relation the business process. A leader or a manger has the responsibility
to articulate the vision, mission and aim of the company. The job of a leader is to convince the
work f0orce about the goals of the business. Encouraging the employees to complete the work
and to lead the process efficiently. To motivate them to work together to achieve goals. When a
new project is started it needs a lot of enthusiasm. The responsibility of the leaders is to be well
versed with the present situation and is able to forecast the future. To instill the adaptability to
stay motivated in all kind of situations. In the beginning everything may work perfectly but to

complete the whole thing with the same zeal is important. To keep the vision inspiring the people
is a difficult work. A correct knowledge of the leadership qualities helps in connecting everyone
to the vision with same goals and aspirations. There are many theories regarding the
development of great minds and great leadership but according to me a successful person is one
who learns from his experience. The more a person gains the experience the better he becomes in
his qualities and in his work environment. It all depends about inner strength to change the
thought process.
