Leadership is one of the valued skill which helps to build the management in a quiet
impactful manner. The leader of an organization is one who makes consideration of some
changes and innovations which are necessary to be adapted in context of organizational
growth and development. I will discuss about the experiences and values which I have
observed in the current organization where I am working. The organization is ANZ bank,
situated in Australia and one the largest bank. I have learned that I need to explore my
leadership skills when one of my colleagues put some negative comments on my working
capabilities. In this report I have made discussion about some of the leadership issues which
I was facing in the previous analysis of my skill set. I have used the model Clifton strength
which helped me to understand my core skills and also boost up my valued abilities. This

Reflection on the leadership journey
The leadership is most necessary ability to be established by one but at the same time this
attains some sort of responsibilities and concerns which needs to be focused. The leadership
does not mean to make efforts to get work from the teammates apart from that this is the
concept which states to work with the team to get balanced and equal results. My family and
relatives motivated to me understand and attain the leadership skills because they had
believed in my creative decision making. They trusted that if I will enhance my core skills it
will help to enhance my peculiar as well as specialised skills. In my opinion effective leaders
have the power to strengthen the entire organizational structure (Sunder, et. al., 2019 ). there
are two different models which will help me to enhance my skills these are Whiteman grow
and boyatzis intentional model. I have made planning of 10 years to grow and develop my
leadership skills.
This specific time will help me to analyse my personal skills in a more precise manner and
will also help me to analyse the changes and innovations which needs to adopted by me. In
my opinion leadership is one of the most valued and complex tasks, as the concept plays vital
role to engage the employees towards their tasks. That was my own choice to be the leader
of an organization. After attaining the desired designation this becomes my major
responsibility to make some relevant and justifies changes to attain growth and development.
I have observed my presence and systemic execution of tasks helps the employees to manage
their work by the right time. I also have observed that this made the workplace culture
balanced but again the lack of focus of mine becomes the factor of concern (Heaton, et. al.,
2019). This is one of the major reason that I have chosen such large time to enhance my
capabilities at this time will help me to become more effective and impactful leader.

GROW model
This model helps me to analyse the situations and sort out the problems. It helps me to
enhance my skills, abilities and provide directions to do work in the right directions. I use
grow model which describes the depth information of goal, reality, way forward and options.
Goals
This factor describes that focus on the goals, mission and vision. According to me I
understand that my aims and objectives as a leader are fixed for upcoming 10 years. I learn
many things in my professional and personal life. At that time I am the leader of ANZ bank.
It enhances my skills and abilities and encourages me to do something new and upgrade my
skills. During my professional life I learn many things and it is challenging for me to perform
well within the organization. This model gives me directions to set the goals and does work
according to it. So there are many goals which are set up by me for long purposes with 10-
year planning. It includes;
To upgrade and enhance my skills as a professional and personal life it supports me to
improvement.
To attend the professional leadership programs courses and it helps me to enhance my
learning skills. These course tutors help me to improve my professional skills and
implement them in the right directions.
To reshape my abilities and skills to reach the higher post within the organization
(Pranesh, et. al., 2017).
I observe that these programs and courses help me to achieve a higher position. I observe and
notice the senior staff members of the bank and learn new things. Their guidance, directions
teach me how to work in right directions. It not only provides knowledge but also provide me
to do work by using systematic ways and approaches. For achieving the higher position I
need some essential requirements which built my skills. I require some skills by learning for
the desired job (Tucker & Lam., 2014).
So I make plans for the long term and short term purposes. My short term goals are; to learn
the advanced skills, new things, leadership skills, courses and implement the relevant things
according to the requirements. Courses and guidance of the tutors help to achieve my short

schedule, I perform very well and learn new things. At the beginning level, I use to develop
the skills to motivate the people, use the right decisions which helps me to build self-
confidence and encouragement. I am capable to apply for planning operations and functions
regarding leadership method (Pfajfar, et. al., 2016).

This component describes that to set the options for improvement and do work according to

Justification of models:
I learn many things, knowledge and information regarding both the models such as GROW
and boyatzis intentional change model. Both models provide information about self-image.
Grow model describe the overall personal growth and development and provide directions to
build the self-image. It provides information to enhance the skills and abilities regarding
leadership. The second model describes the person intentional change model which focuses
on person mindset, their behaviour and their intention levels. I choose to grow model which
is a suitable match with my situations.
As a leader, I select the GROW model to provide the right directions, guidance’s regarding
leadership development and also support me to enhance my personal and professional skills.
It is investigated that this model helps me to build the self-image, enhance the personal skills
and abilities to do work in the right directions. It also provides me to develop leadership
skills, implement it according to the requirements of the conditions.
As a leader, this model supports me to manage the company tasks and targets within the
given time period. Grow model used to develop the awareness and give guidance for higher
the response and accomplish the organizational goals and objectives. Become a leader I
understand that it is required for me to monitor all the options and it enhances my abilities to
achieve all my short term and long term goals. Move forward option encourages me to do
work within given time period and focus on the potential goals and objectives.
This model is simple as compare to the Boyatzis intentional change model. ICT model is a
more complex and lengthy procedure. On the other hand, grow model is simple and provide
all the information which is relevant to the leadership concept. So I choose grow model and
gain the various types of information which are provided by it. It helps me to take right
decisions within decision making process, accomplish all the tasks and targets within
organization. It supports me improve my presentation skills and upgrade my abilities to
achieve a higher position within the organization.

on person mindset, their behaviour and their intention levels. I choose to grow model which
is a suitable match with my situations.
As a leader, I select the GROW model to provide the right directions, guidance’s regarding
leadership development and also support me to enhance my personal and professional skills.
It is investigated that this model helps me to build the self-image, enhance the personal skills
and abilities to do work in the right directions. It also provides me to develop leadership
skills, implement it according to the requirements of the conditions.
As a leader, this model supports me to manage the company tasks and targets within the
given time period. Grow model used to develop the awareness and give guidance for higher
the response and accomplish the organizational goals and objectives. Become a leader I
understand that it is required for me to monitor all the options and it enhances my abilities to
achieve all my short term and long term goals. Move forward option encourages me to do
work within given time period and focus on the potential goals and objectives.
This model is simple as compare to the Boyatzis intentional change model. ICT model is a
more complex and lengthy procedure. On the other hand, grow model is simple and provide
all the information which is relevant to the leadership concept. So I choose grow model and
gain the various types of information which are provided by it. It helps me to take right
decisions within decision making process, accomplish all the tasks and targets within
organization. It supports me improve my presentation skills and upgrade my abilities to
achieve a higher position within the organization.
