Introduction
In this individual assignment, it describes the concept of e-business and e-commerce and their
roles in the current time period. When analysing the case study it gives various types of ideas,
information and knowledge. E-commerce is the systematic digital activity of buying and sells the
products via online mode and through the internet. On the other hand, e-business is commercial
transitions which include sharing the information via the internet. Electronic commerce concept
focuses on the use of ICT for enables the external practices and connection of business with the
individuals and groups. In this report, it explains all the aspects of e-commerce and e-business. It
explains the role and position of both the concepts and also describes the advantages and
disadvantages of both aspects. E-business and e-commerce play an important role in the current
time period. It provides various types of benefits not only for the customers but also for the
business.

E-commerce and e-business and their roles in the current world of business
E-business is the online business whereas products and services are buying and selling via online
mode. In the current time period, electronic business uses the World Wide Web for transactions
life cycle and uses the technologies which include; e-mail, e-commerce transactions. There are
various types of e-commerce transactions which sell the products such as; books, accessories. E-
business and e-commerce have three areas such as; online retailing, electronic markets and
online auctions. It is supported by electronic business. It plays an essential role in the current
time period (Laudon and Traver., 2016).
Role of e-commerce in the today world:
It is investigated that in the 1970s e-commerce facilitate of commercial transactions
electronically via technology such as; electronic data interchange (EDI), electronic funds transfer
(EFT), it permits to the business for sending the commercial documents such as; purchase orders
as well as invoices electronically. In the current time period many European, American and
Australian business companies offer services via the World Wide Web (Martin and Eva., 2015).
E-commerce is divided into two categories such as; business to consumer (B2C) and business to
business (B2B).
Examples of B2C are: amazon, e-bay, snap deal, flip kart and many popular markets trends
online services. It provides various types of benefits to the organizations as well as customers
(Kim and Peterson., 2017).

process of buying the goods, services from merchants who sell their products through the
internet.
Online customers can purchase the products and services with less time, it provides many
products according to the customer's age, groups, choices, needs and wants (Adiwijaya, et. al.,
2016).
There are various types of advantages of online shopping such as;
24 hours access, it provides the ability to compare the shops, there are various types of varieties
given and present to the customers, and it provides in-home privacy to the customers. It is an
analysis that in the current time period there are various types of websites for shopping. It
includes; event tickets, travel booking, consumer electronics, online periodicals subscriptions.
The relationship between e-commerce and e-business:
In e-business, it includes buying and sells electronic items, electronic procurements.
In e-commerce, it includes sell-side e-commerce and buys side e-commerce.
It refers that buy-side to electronic transactions between purchasing organization and
their suppliers.

customers.
It is an analysis that in the UK there are around 60% of adults is actively using the internet.
There is seven out of ten towards the internet is essential and important for lives. It is

that there is 66% populations of UK buy online products and services and 45% people use the

various types of activities by using of internet. There are various types of e-marketplaces in the
current time period such as; public exchanges, consortium exchanges and private exchanges.

value-adding services. It gives chances to access global markets for small and medium-sized

It is analysis that in the current time period customers are able to enjoy the variety of goods and
services at competitive prices. In these circumstances, e-commerce influenced customers
purchasing decisions. In current time customers go for digital trend via online mode to check the
reviews of the products, prices, availability of the goods. It saves their time and having online
purchases drive more business.
