Distinguish between e-commerce and digital business
Digital business is also known as e-business. In this form of business, the organisation
carries its operational and functional tasks through the internet as well as technical
equipment, such as mobile phones, laptops, computers, and so on. One of the essential
activities related to digital business is increasing brand as well as product awareness.
On the other hand, e-commerce can be defined as a platform, through which
customers can interact with service providers through internet. However, the main
activity associated with e-commerce is buying along with selling of the products or
services through the internet (Kim and Peterson, 2017).
Digital business is of two types. One is referred to as the pure play in which a single
product is taken into consideration and the other one is Brick and click. The second
type of e-business is intended towards both online and offline business. On the
contrary, e-commerce can be business to consumer to business type (C2B),business
(B2B) type , consumer to consumer type (C2C), business administration type (B2A),
business to consumer type (B2C), and Consumer to Administration (C2A) type
(Chaffey et al., 2015).

Buy side e-commerce
Buy side e-commerce is referred to the transactions that is made in order to produce
resources, which are needed by the firms from their suppliers.
Communication technology is used by this e-commerce type, which starts from the
procurement stage and goes up to inbound logistics, thus, supporting the upstream
supply chain
With the usage of this form of e-commerce, the organisation can reduce the excessive
need of the inventory storage along with overhead expenses. Moreover, the company
is able to avail the product whenever required.
Sell-side e-commerce
It is referred to as the transaction done in regards to selling a product to the consumer.
Apart from selling the products, it uses internet technology for marketing the services.

There are certain sites that are useful in sell side e-commerce. These are transactional
e-commerce sites, Brand-building sites, services-oriented relationship-building
websites and portal or Media sites (Chaffey et al., 2015).
