INTRODUCTION
The report of effects of e-learning will comprehensively explain the implications of the
study curriculum online on the student. Report will establish the negative effect of e-learning on
student. Further various positive effects on students will be highlighted. At last the
recommendation which can improve the e learning curriculum for the students during pandemic
will be elaborated.
MAIN BODY
1) NEGATIVCE EFFECTS OF E-LEARNING
Over the years the education sector has been revolutionized, with the introduction of so
many dynamics which has helped to bring the advancement of the education system. It is said
that need is the mother of invention, during Covid-19 schools were closed to prevent the
transmission of virus (Irawan, Dwisona and Lestari, 2020). Students faced difficult times with
smoothly carrying out the studies as schools were closed. Therefore, in order to carry out the
schooling, students had to shift to online mode of education. Every coin has two sides, good and
bad, likewise the online mode of education or e-learning has many negative and positive impacts
on the students. Let's discuss the negative impacts.
One of the crucial factors which negatively impacted the student was monetary aspect of
the e-learning. E-learning needs students to have laptop or computer and a proper internet
connection. It makes the e-learning expensive mode of education. In the pandemic inflation rate
and unemployment rate was at all time high which affected the purchasing power of the
individual. Many parents have a lot of medical bills to pay that it was difficult for them to buy
laptops and personal computer for the kids. Due to low purchasing power of the people affording
this high expense was difficult (Baytiyeh, 2018).
Lack of physical activities was another negative impact on the students. As kids
nowadays are already lazy and prefer to spend most of their time on social media and mobiles.
Schools used to make them indulge into physical activities including, getting ready, going to
school, cycling, etc. all these things are really unachievable in the home. Also, these physical
activities have positive health benefits for the kids in growing years, it makes them fit, well and
immune against many things. Therefore, e-learning has threatened the physical activities of the
students which directly impacts their physical health.

Eyesight issues are also a big problem for the students. Due to the burden of such
curriculum students are required to face the screen for 7 to 8 hours, which is a long duration for
them to be exposed to the screen (Simamora, 2020). Increased screen time has also increased the
strain on eyes which results into headache and eye issues. It weakness the eyesight of the kids in
young age. Nowadays even kids aged 6 years have glasses as they spend a lot of time on laptop,
phones, televisions etc.
Lack of classroom morales and ethics, students tend to have less classroom ethics in e-
learning as it does not involve any physical human interaction. When an individual goes to the
school he faces many situations, meets many people, interacts with teachers and other students
which makes him understand the right and wrong practices that builds the ethics of the students.
All these things lack in the online mode of education and when a person finally goes for the job
in the physical environment they tend to faced more difficulties to settle for the right balance of
interaction and ethics.
Poor relationship foundation, a person's first relationship he himself forms is friendship
in the school, as they spend most of their time in physical classrooms they make friends yet this
lacks in online mode (Aguilera-Hermida, 2020). During the gap between two lectures or classes,
in physical school they spend their time playing or chatting with peers yet in the online classes
this interaction is missing. Ability to make relationship in the schools define a person's future
relationships in life and this is being harmed on a big level in e-learning.
Ineffective learning process, this is a major concerning issues for the students overall
growth and development. In a physical classroom, teacher keeps an eye on the students'
behaviour, learning, focus, concentration etc. by continuously interacting, asking questions,
placing effective communication and tests etc. Yet in the online mode students can easily cheat
in exams, may ans the classroom questions by cheating, may use phones while seeming to be
attentive in the classroom, may turn the camera off mentioning poor network connection etc. all
these things add up to the poor learning process which makes the learning process ineffective.
Hence, all these above reasons sum up the negative impacts of the e-learning process for the
education.
2)POSITIVE IMPACTS OF E-LEARNING
In the pandemic times when covid wreaked havoc on the education system and schooling,
e-learning or online eduction was a boon for the students, as it helped them continues to get

schooled or learning even when schools were closed (Maqableh and Alia, 2021). There are so
many ways in which e-learning has positively impacted. Let's discuss the positive impacts in
detail.
Accessibility is one of the biggest advantages of the e-learning as it has helped blur the
geographical lines. Nowadays even people from remote areas can have access to the better form
of education via online mode. It has removed the barriers of limited seats and has allowed people
from various backgrounds, geographical locations to have availability of the good education.
Students who are unable to attend the class, due to any personal reason gets a chance to continue
education via online mode.
Time management, online education mode makes students manage time according to
their availability. Many people start working from the young age due to financial reasons and
this makes them dropout of the schools (Hermanto and Srimulyani, 2021). Yet the online
medium of education allows the time flexibility where students can learn through rerecorded
lectures according to their time schedule and availability. This is the biggest advantage as it gives
a chance to those students who had to choose between either education or earning. With online
mode both things can be easily managed.
Updated content, regular school curriculum books do not get updated with every change
in topic as it is very time and money consuming. Yet the online mode of education keep the very
updated and latest content for the students. Digital learning updates the study materials quickly
and in real time for having more relatable content for students. This makes students really
confident as they are getting updated knowledge on each topic. Traditional mode of education
lacks the constant update of study material.
Budget friendly, comparative to the traditional mode of education, online medium
provides many sources which are extremely cheap. Also, there are free of cost resources which
are also available online such as you tube and other platforms which are highly consumed by the
young audience (Gonzalez-Ramirez and et.al., 2021). Also, the expansive course materials or
classes provide the facility of scholarship and EMI payment which makes it easy for the students
access. Online classes are really cost effective for the long term and short term.
Customized learning process, due to the wast availability of the online educators and
platforms, students can easily customize whatever way they want. Be it learning a subject from
two different educators or choosing different teachers for different subjects according the

understanding and expectations one has. Here students have total control over their learning
process as they are not dependent on the schools or universities to provide a teacher.
Better option exploration, in traditional method of schooling and education a students
is stuck with the curriculum that he does not get enough time to explore the other options of
interest which can give him better career option in the future (Al-Kumaim and et.al., 2021).
Options like sports, technology, subject specific can be looked into when students have time to
explore the area of interest. Traditional method of education does not provide enough options to
the individuals based on their point of interest.
Self paced learning process, in a physical classroom teachers and professors try to teach
keeping in mind every student in the classroom. Which is bad for those students who have
capacity to learn fast or who need slow way to learn a topic. As different students have different
capacity to grasp and learn. Online mode of education allows students to learn at their own pace.
This makes student really efficient in each topic as they can take their sweet time to learn new
things (Oducado and Estoque, 2021).
All these above advantages have positive impact of online mode of education or e-
learning.
2) RECOMMENDATIONS
Online learning can be improved which provides better environment to the students and
meets the demand and supply in the covid-19 pandemic. Before pandemic online mode of
education was a point of choice for the students but due to pandemic it had become a mandatory
thing. There is a significant percentage of population which goes to schools, universities or are
taking education in some way or other (Chang, 2020). E-learning has become a source of
education for all these people, therefore, the system needs to be improved.
Developing creative environment which allows the students to be productive even in
online mode is really important. As this can enhance the environment of the education for the
students. Environment plays a crucial role in developing a child's brain, creating an effective
environment which brings the student satisfaction of being working at the optimum level is
important for the future of people. Such environment can be provided by enhancing the class
participation in online mode. Giving chance to students to give there input for the topic and
explaining there understanding of each lesson.

Further the availability of recorded lectures can give facility of meeting the demand and
supply in pandemic. As there is a high demand for online education but low supply of online
educators. This makes many people compromise on the quality of education. This must be taken
care of by recording online lectures and providing the same to students and doubt sessions must
be conducted which help students to contact the professors and teachers in times of doubts and
questions.
Portal of contact must be created by the respective educators where students can come in
case of any problem regarding course, curriculum, topics and doubts. Such portal must enhance
the practice of conducting meetings like parent teacher, student teacher via online video calls etc.
and allow students to have personal connections with the students which can deal with the
problem of lack of human interaction in online mode (Dutta, 2020). Development of some free
resources which does the work of advertisement and also looks out for underprivileged children's
education.
Feedback and suggestion taking from parents and students must be made mandatory for
each teacher. This can give an insight of reality in the effective education. Students and parents
are the customers or consumers of such services and it is important to take regular feedbacks
which can improve the curriculum. Also, a healthy competitive atmosphere in online classes is
must for keeping students up to their productivity level as, this should be encouraged as heathy
academic practice.
Implementation of the virtual reality which can give a personal touch of the topic. Virtual
reality has the capability to understand how brain function and it establishes an effective
answering and teaching method in place. Many advanced universities are adapting this approach
to help student understand a topic (Sutarto, Sari and Fathurrochman, 2020). Conducting
interactive sessions which allows students to work together and discuss the topic giving brain
storming ideas.
Also, various e-learning academies must hire competent and skilled teachers who are
well aware and educated about the online modes and its shortcoming. Such efficient teachers will
try to meet the shortcomings of the online mode and understand the dependency of the student's
future in the curriculum. Conducting effective test and assignment which puts the students in
action for the studies is another dimension of the effective e-learning process. Publishing results
in a manner that involves the parents and kids to look into the seriousness of the studies.
