Electronic portfolio or e-Portfolio is one of the widely used set of electronic records
which is used by individuals of any profession to record their personal and professional data such
as personal details, list of acquired skills, academic and professional experience as well as his or
her personal expertise (Green, Wyllie & Jackson, 2014). The benefit of using e-Portfolio is
associated with the ability of re-edit these details using internet, whenever they upgrade their
abilities or skills. Hence, using e-Portfolio in different professions, provide the person with the
opportunity to showcase his or her learnings and achieved skills in a detailed manner that help
them to get their desired work or study positions (Garrett, MacPhee & Jackson, 2013). Further,
the presence of goals and reflection about achieving the goals helps the person going through the
details with the determination ability of the person, determining their efficiency as a professional
(Pimmer et al., 2014). This section, discusses about the e-Portfolio which was made by me to
become nursing manager, after the completion of my bachelor’s in nursing and hence, this
specific e-Portfolio will be discussed.
The e-portfolio which I will be preparing for the application of nursing manager related
post will be dependent on the usage of assessment portfolio so that I can clearly discuss my
strengths, weaknesses and my abilities in the portfolio (Andrews & Cole, 2015). Further, using
the type of e-Portfolio in nursing profession is an important aspect so that while discussing it, we
can easily convey the reader without set skills and techniques, which nursing students acquire
while going through their study (Garrett, MacPhee & Jackson, 2013). Therefore, this format is
accepted by the nursing professionals worldwide as using these, it is easier to describe the skills,
and techniques which will be requiring for nursing manager related post. Further, presence of a
concise table of contents provide this type of e-Portfolio an appealing overview, because using
this the nursing professionals can provide a small details about their skills and knowledge to the

person going through the portfolio (Green, Wyllie & Jackson, 2014). This portfolio will be
divided into four sections and each section has its own importance as each section will have a
specific aspect of the personal or professional details of the nursing professional. The first
section will contain the personal details of the professional whereas the second section will have
the employment and educational details of the person with the number of years of experience.
The third section is an important aspect of the personal details as it determines the strengths,
weaknesses and other personal details of the person (Pimmer et al., 2014). Whereas on the other
hand, the person provides a critical reflection about his or her achievement of learning objectives
and acquired skills so that the mental strength of the person could be easily understood (Garrett,
MacPhee & Jackson, 2013). Therefore, using these four-staged nursing e-Portfolio, the person
provides a detailed analysis of his or her achievement of his educational life and provides a
details of his or her ability to work in professional environment as well.
