AI Summary
This document presents a comprehensive IT project management plan for the development of an E-Taxi application. The project, initiated to address the scarcity of taxis during peak hours, proposes a carpooling system to facilitate real-time ride requests. The plan includes a detailed project brief, outlining the problem statement, project summary, and work breakdown structure (WBS). The WBS comprehensively breaks down the project into distinct phases, including initiation, information gathering, project planning, content development, database design, error testing, software development, backend system development, database and connection development, mobile app development, user training, and project sign-off. The project aims to develop a mobile application with GPS tracking for efficient taxi services. The document also includes a bibliography of relevant research papers. The project involves a series of stages, from initial project brief and scope statement to a complete project management plan and presentation, demonstrating the student's ability to apply project management principles and tools.

Stage 1: Project Brief-E-Taxi Project
1. Project Name
The chosen project aims in development of a mobile application through which people
can book Taxi. The name of the project is “E-Taxi Project”.
2. Project Sponsor
Please insert the name of your Teacher
3. Project Manager
Please insert your name and name of your team member
4. Problem Statement/Opportunity
Taxi is considered to be an important transportation mode yet there are very little
availability of taxis in peak hours. The undertaken project aims in development of an application
that can help in overcoming this problem, and will increase the number of taxis. The application
is basically a car pooling system that is capable of accepting the real time ride requests of the
passengers, considering the time of the service opted, the capacity of the car and the monetary
constraints.
5. Project Summary
The E-Taxi application involves development of a vehicle tracking system that will be
using GPS for vast amount of resource coordination. It is observed that finding a taxi in peak
hours can be quite difficult and therefore, the project proposes a carpooling system that will
operate as per the real time requests of the customers. Once a customer asks for a service and the

service is confirmed, the passenger can track the taxi driver using GPS. The location of the
drivers will be relayed to the control room for taking necessary actions. This would be an easier
and an hassle free alternative to the existing taxis.
