The topic chosen is How e-technologies have changed modern social life and how
suppliers of such technologies have sought to overcome the threats and risks associated
with these technologies
This is the age of technological advancement and development. In this 21st century, life
seems to be totally incomplete and unbearable without the e technologies or the electronic
technology. The advent of digital or electronic media has largely contributed to the social
modern life. It has helped man to become more social by keeping a communication with the
world just by sitting at one corner of his house. This enhanced communication system is also
very handy in solving the problems of so many people. The E- technology is now being used in
many fields. Some of the significant usages of the E-technology are online training, e-banking or
electronic banking, online health and medical facilities, online shopping and many other such
areas. So, it is evident that the e technologies have helped in making life much easier (Rosa et al.
2015).
There are many ways in which the E- technology has been able to change the social life.
This is also because in this 21st century, life has become a rat race and people do not have
enough time in hand. So they look for technological means that will help them get their works
done at a very fast, easy and less time-consuming manner. A very good example can be the
electronic banking or internet banking Khan, (Khan et al. 2016). This is a good example of the
electronic technology that has made t easier for people to manage their banking affairs from their
homes, schools, college, office and any other place. They do not have to undertake the trouble of
going down to the banks or standing in the long queues for doing all their financial transactions.
In these days people can use many apps in their online for carrying on their banking activities.

Smartphone, laptops, tablets are devices that are present with each and every one of this. So,
using the e technological means through these devices is really very easy (Boserup 2017).
The other important aspect of the E technology is the online shopping sites like the
Flipkart, Amazon and many others (Kadłubek 2015). They help people to seat at their home
and make their purchases from a large variety of options. Kogan.com is one of the leading online
shopping apps in Australia (Jones 2017). The buyers can install this app on their phone or any
other electronic gadgets and carry on their shopping. So, even if it is tough to go to the physical
store people can buy [products online and can also make payments. The E logistics is becoming
very useful for the seller and the buyers as well. The users or buyers ordering something online
one can keep a track of the shipment of their orders. EKART is one of the good examples of this
E technology. Apart from this, the Atm is also a good example of the E -technology. People
can use this device for checking their balance in their bank accounts, withdraw money anytime
and from anywhere as and when they need. Apart from this one of the most important
applications of the E technology is seen in the social networking sites like the facebook.
It is one of the most widely used means of communication that helps in socializing
and communication. However, it is not just about communication but it opens a huge area of
activities and opportunities for the users. They can take look at the new, any political, social or
economic debates that are regularly telecasted there. It also gives a huge option if choosing the
friends that people want to keep in touch with.

customers. There are many stores that are using the E technology for giving customers a taste
of experimental retailing. There are digital screens and that can actually capture the movement

employees' while entering or leaving the office. This helps in recording the daily attendance
and it is very easy and keeps time-consuming (Cook and Polgar 2014).
The Electronic technology is also helping a lot in many other sectors of modern society.
Some of them are the agricultural sectors and the healthcare industries as well. The farmers are
usually located in the rural and remote regions. They are not really exposed to all the modern
means of farming and agriculture (Gozdz et al. 2015).

embedded within them. It is through these sensors that all the important agricultural data gets

EHR or the electronic health record helps the hospital staffs to maintain all the patient
information in one place (Rumball et al. 2018). Earlier it was a huge problem for the hospitals to
maintain the records of so many different patients at the same time. Often one system had to look
after the pharmacy, one was appointed for the patient's documentation and others. However, this
new application has really been very helpful for all the hospitals. mHealth is one of the other
application that is becoming very prominent in the medical field (Hamine et al. 2015). It is a
very good means of wireless connectivity. This frees patients from coming down to the hospital
each time they want to take an appointment for any blood test, EKG or any other such functions.

threat to the hackers in case of the online banking and payments. However, the service
providers make sure to alert all the users repeatedly to not share their personal information with
anyone. Each and every bank or online banking service providers make sure that they are giving
a safety precautions set to be followed by all. The banks also keep contact with cyber crime
department to assist their customers if they feel that there are some frauds going on with
them. The service providers also inform the users repeatedly to not share their PIN or
password with anyone including the bank officials. Apart from that, while opening the
accounts in online banking app., the users are always asked to put a very strong password to
avoid chances of hacking (Baggett and Simpkins 2018).
Facebook or any other social site also keep on updating their networking systems every
now and then to assure that the users are not being trapped by any means. The social site updates
can also turn out be harmful for the users. As the users update their locations and posts, they may
get exposed to malicious people. So there are options like select audiences so that the users can
maintain a proper security about their whereabouts without making it public.
Emails are another E technology application largely used by people. There is a spam box
in any and every email. So, the system can make put the emails that are not coming from any

used in any hospital will store all the data regarding a patient. If the security is not tight enough it
can get leaked and some hackers or malicious people may tamper with it. This will be a huge
breach of trust for the patients. So, a strong privacy is maintained by the service providers so
that the data is not lost. There is a strong password protection system used for the personal
information is not being exposed to anyone. The service providers make sure to inform all the
users regarding the safety measure that they can use in any E technological gadgets they are
using. They are recommended to use the Bluecoat and the Pish Tank help in providing security
to the network and other internet applications.
So, it can be concluded that the E technology is an incorrigible part of the modern day
life. The technological means has helped to develop man's life in many ways. However, there are
both positive and negative aspects of using the E technological means. The service providers,
however, suggest many ways in which the users can actually deal with these impending threats.
So, it is the joint effort of the service providers and the users who will be using these
technological means to use them in a sensible and responsible manner.
