Using the sources you brought to class, combine them to create the first bodyparagraph of your essay. Use the
guide below to help you with the structure of the main body paragraph. Remember to follow the
recommended structure and include in-text citations. (280 – 300 words)
Say why this is a key issue (e.g. Paragraph 1/Paragraph 2)
(this is your topic sentence)
The key issue: Business ethics is and integrity in business for
the Uber and Enterprise car is the main issue of the essay.
Maintenance of business ethics is essential to maintain a
proper client base for any organization. According to the
researchers if proper business integrity is maintained then the
sustainable development of business can be possible.
What is the counter-argument of this issue?
(this is the opinion you do not agree with)
The counter-argument is that companies like Uber and
Enterprise car sometimes violate the business ethics to make
more profit. For example, the Grey ball software used by the
Uber that hacked the credit card and social account data of
riders. This app enabled the company to know the increase its
business by narrowing the target audience. This is an absolute
violation of business ethics and integrity.
What is the main argument if this issue?
(this is your opinion)
Why is your argument stronger than the counter-argument?
What evidence/examples do you have to support this?
The main argument is stronger than counter-argument because
according to the opinion of the researchers it is important to
maintain business ethics for sustainable development. If any
violation is done then profit may be made by the company in a
short time period but in the long run, it should be a great loss
for the company. For example due to the grey ball software,
Uber made a profit at first but after it was exposed Uber is
banned from London.
What can you conclude from this? What are the implications?
(this is your concluding sentence)
This implies that business ethics is very important and it should
be maintained in a proper manner. If the company wants to
grow and make sustainable development by developing a
proper client based business then ethics should be maintained
in an effective manner.
You should use at least 2 sources in this paragraph.

Introduction
Maintaining honesty and integrity in business is one of the essential attributes. According to one school of
thought, business is explained as a little white lie. On the contrary stalwart businessman like Warren Buffet
explains that integrity and honesty are the main pillars of a sustainable business. This study will mainly focus
on the analysis of the business integrity of the Enterprise cars and Uber company. According to the
researchers, the top management of the company and the shareholders play the most crucial role in
maintaining the business ethics of the company. The study will include an analysis of the different decisions
and the business process initiated by the enterprise and the Uber company that helps in the maintenance of
the business ethics in an effective manner. Moreover, Issues that comprises the disintegration of business
ethics will be discussed in the essay. Examples of the business integrity of the Uber and enterprise cars will be
analyzed in the essay in an efficient manner. There will be a conclusion section summarising the key aspects of
the different issues related to the business ethics of the Uber and Enterprise company
Issue1
According to researchers one school of thought it is explained that maintenance of business ethics and
honesty is dependent on the personal traits of an individual. According to them, the management of the
organization is not involved in maintaining the integrity in business (Jelinek, 2015) and it is thought to be an
isolated incident of a rogue employee. On the contrary, According to other researchers, the top management
plays the pivotal role in maintaining the honesty and integrity in the business. The policies taken by the
managers and the directors are solely responsible for implementing the business ethics (Elegido, 2015) for the
Company. According to the researchers, the Uber company and the Enterprise cars are the two largest
companies in the rental car industry. Uber is trying to implement efficient cultural norms (Uzo and Adigwe,
2016) that may help in enhancing the business integrity of the company by reshaping the structure of the
Management. On the contrary, according to the researchers Uber has violated the business integrity by giving
Hush money to the cyber attackers (Hausken, 2015) who hacked their customer profiles. For example, Uber
paid a bribe of 100,000 to cover up for the cyber attack that has exposed 57 million personal data of its global
customers. This is directly considered as the viol, action f the business ethics code of conduct. New CEO of
Uber Dara Khosrowshahi has mentioned that this is totally against the core values of business ethics and Uber
is trying to incorporate core values of business ethics in the top management of the company. On the other
hand, cars are renowned for their transparency in pricing and confidential data protection of the company. It
helps in the maintenance of the business ethics and honesty (Brunner and Ostermaier, 2017) that may help in
the sustainability of the business and preserving the core values of the business. However, it is seen that the
term s and conditions provided to the client of the Enterprise cars do not comply with the Legislations.
According to the researchers, these issues should be dealt with in an efficient manner by the top management
of Both the companies.
Issue 2
In the opinion of some researchers, the top management of Uber must take the effective initiative by
implementing strict business policies including the business ethics guidelines. It helps in reshaping the
individual's perception and views of the employees in maintaining the business ethics and integrity of the
company that will lead to the efficient business development (Haski-Leventhal, 2016) of the company.
According to the CEO of Uber Dara Khosrowshahi, the core values of ethics should be the foundation stone for
every decision and business strategy of the company. On the contrary, it is seen that the grey ball software is
used by the Uber company that is totally against the business ethics and integrity. According to the
researchers, the Grey ball software (WANG and LÜ, 2014) hacks the personal details of riders such as credit
card data, social account data and analyze the riders potential to maintain the price factor of the Uber
company. If the Data does not match then the rider is banned to take a ride with the Uber. This is totally

against the business ethics policy and legislation (Wyns and Khatchadourian, 2016). Due to this reason in
London decision has been taken not to renew the license of the Uber company which turned out to be a great
loss for the company.
On the other hand, Enterprise cars are reshaping there business model (Teece, 2017) including business
integrity and business ethics. The terms and condition of the enterprise car is now provided in the website that
helps in maintaining loyalty to the clients. However, according to researchers, it is important that the
Enterprise cars have issues of accountability of post rental charges for accidental damages. Moreover, the
accounts policy for the charge of post rental cars due to accidental damage is not transparent and that
disrupts the business ethics. A transparent policy should be laid down by an organization that may provide
clarity in the total matter.
Conclusion
Business ethics and integrity are the two most essential parameters that should be followed by companies to
maintain sustainable development. In the study, it is seen that The Enterprise car and Uber are trying to
develop the management system including the core values of business ethics and integrity. On the contrary, it
is seen that both the companies have performed some operation that has violated the business ethics. The
Uber company has violated the ethics and integrity by bribing the cyber attackers and my installation of the
grey ball software in their application system. These steps have proved to be a loss for the company as they
are banned to renew their license in London. On the other hand, the Enterprise car maintains a transparent
policy by depicting their detail terms and condition in the website to maintain loyalty. However, they are
accused of violation of business integrity due to accounts policy in post rental car for accidental management.
Business integrity and ethics should be implemented in business policy for sustainable development of the
business.
