2 Introduction
This report will investigate the threats to the sustainability of the Great Barrier Reef. There are
umpteen circumstances that might cause damage to the Great Barrier Reef like: increasing sea
temperature due to climate change, pollution and tourism. Such issues lead to coral bleaching which
affect species such as fish and invertebrates. Furthermore, if the peril increases for longer periods
the coral will begin to die. Solutions can be developed to safeguard the Great Barrier Reef. This
report provides a background of coral bleaching of the Great Barrier Reef and describes its severity
and the impact it will have on sea life in the future.

4.1 History of the Great Barrier Reef in Australia
According to global coral bleaching, 2016, in the year 1998, colossal underneath the aquatic life the
major extensive caused by warmth weather killed over 16% of the corals on reefs around the world. The
