Running head: Nurture Creativity in children 2
Scenario 1
Why does this happen?
This happens because children have been taught and coached to play in specific areas.
Classrooms are divided into different areas according to specifications of a certain play. Children
enjoy playing in a block corner, crafts table, home corner and mostly the floor is usually for
construction work. Children in tender age normally like playing together with their peers and
sometimes stay close to the designated areas probably around the playing premises.
How can use this information in setting up a play areas for groups of children?
The information above may help in utilizing and preserving space when setting up the
play group. It may be used to control movement of the children while they are playing since they
will be close together and at specific areas.
Scenario 2
How will these balls enhance the toddler's aesthetic appreciation?
The balls will enhance the toddler’s aesthetic appreciation since they will be fastidious
and astonished by the colors in the balls making them to be so inquisitive and curious on how the
colors got inside the glass balls and somehow wonder how the color would stay in the same
pattern when moved around (Anning et. al, 2004).

During the event, the children will tend to be considerate and handle the glass balls with a
lot of concern. This will improve their social skills and extends their knowledge to other children
.They will learn more about colors textures as they touch and feel the balls basically notice the
designs and colors in the balls.
How will Holly scaffold their experience?
First, Holly could use the colorful balls and divide the children into groups and
subsequently observe their group experience or better still note what the children have gained
from the activity. Holly can have the children sit in a circle and pass the balls to them ensuring
that each child get a ball. Then he can allow the children to have enough time with the balls and
when all the balls are passed to each child Holly can ask questions involving how many colors
the children noticed to be their favorite color.
Another method that Holly could have used is setting up a table and placing the balls on
the middle of the table. Thereafter issuing colored pencils and paper and allowing the children to
draw pictures expressing on how the color sand balls made them feel.
Scenario 3
It enables the children to learn more about themselves and others. It is also necessary
element of healthy development for children despite their ages. The surrounding in our pre-
school provides a perfect and conducive space for this children to play and reflect on their

It is enhanced through finding a good location of dramatic center such as block center.
The place should be noisy since children tends to be noisy. The place should contain shelves
where one can hang coats, bags and costumes labeled with pictures.

What could they do?
The staff can change the play by improving the air circulation and get rid of any
condensation build up on the tent. They can also ensure that there is enough space that can
accommodate all the children and instead of using plastic animals they could use some of
children to perform for others.
How will this extend the play?
When air circulation is improved in the tent, is consequently gives the children conducive
environment to participate the play. The more space created in the tent will enable the many
children participate and once they are part of the exercise, they get to learn practically.
What opportunities do the changes allow?
The children are able to come up with different ideas about the play through
improvement of creativity.
How should the children be involved in the changes?
By actively participating in the play, coming up with different ideas and tactics due to the
improved creativity hence some ideas will be derived from this to capture the children’s interest.
