1) Early childhood development differs from child development at other ages in terms of
nurture and nature. There are three comprehensive stages of development stated as
early childhood, middle childhood and adolescence. Early childhood development
refers as the time of marvellous growth in all areas of development accompanying
with physical changes. In this stage, the child learns its various senses, cognitive skills
and language development. In the middle childhood, the child comes under latency
stage and he/she gains various personality development including inter-personal
relationships and values of their societies (Black et al, 2017). At the last stage, i.e.
adolescence, a child sees a majors changes in his/her identity including sexual
maturation, complex cognitive development and have to bear various responsibilities
of society expectations, family and many more.
2) As an early childhood professional, it is important to understand early childhood
development as they have to work with children while better equipped with them so
that to assist them if they understand how they grow. Early childhood education
professionals require to know the way to use screening tools when they uncertain
about any sort of delay and they can also manage the relationship with community
members to find the best resources and opportunities for the student (Bates, 2020).
3) As with development, history can be seen and approached from several points of view
like development is a teleological concept and like the Swiss psychologist Jean Piaget
(1896–1980) recommended formal operations as the universal end of cognitive
development. The time stamp can be like history before 17th century, the 17th century
and beyond, childhood abuse, beginnings of scientific child psychology and so forth
