Task 1 Supporting Physical Development
1. One of the spontaneous physical activity in which children aged 0-2 years can be
easily involved is the spreading of a blanket on the floor and letting the baby reach for
it. This is beneficial for the physical development of the babies
(raisingchildren.net.au, 2019). As commented by Barbosa and Oliveira (2016), babies
of such tender age requires lot of free movements and fun activities. Thus, this
activity involving the blanket is spontaneous in nature.

3. The list of skills can be as follows:
● Reaching is a Gross motor skill
● Rolling is a Gross motor skill

4. Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) indicates that as the age of a child
increases, a strong sense of identity is observed to be developed among the children.
Children tend to connect with rest of the world and accordingly contribute in several
activities. Children develop a matured sense of well being. Such children are found to
be confident involved learners, identified to be effective communicators
(education.gov.au, 2019).
Children along with their increasing age prefer to communicate with rest of the world
about their feelings. This is evident by the instances that include children cry to
communicate their feeling of physical pain. In addition to this, children initiate
vigorous movement of their hands and feet when they feel hot in the clothes they are
wearing. This vigorous movement of hands indicates that they would like to get rid of
the clothes they are wearing.
5. With increase of age, the children tend to display improvement in their physical
development. The free and playful activities help in their physical growth. As opined
by Bierman and Torres (2016), the educators can teach the children to wash their
hands and feets after they are finished playing with the blanket on the floor to
maintain personal hygiene (healthdirect.gov.au, 2019). The children are taught by the
instructor to wash their hands and feet with soap and water after they are finished
participating in outdoor activities.

6. A child learning to talk is involved in small activities that require naming the
individuals surrounding them such as Mother, Father. The instructor involves the
child to call the mother.
The delayed speech development is caused in children due to the biological factor of
gender. On the other hand, the environmental factor that causes delayed speech
development is the late concern of mother regarding that matter (ncbi.nlm.nih.gov,
2019).
Task 3 Supporting emotional development
1. A child requires the adult guidance as per the following ways:
a. Good behavior in children is encouraged by setting clear rules about behavior
(raisingchildren.net.au, 2019)
b. As suggested by Janus and Reid-Westoby, (2016), a frustrated child is to be
encouraged to cry to the extent possible in order to get rid of the frustration
c. The best way to encourage a child to learn from mistakes is to teach the children to
rectify their mistakes.
d. The children are taught to name their feelings in order to help them express their
feelings in the most appropriate manner possible.
e. One of the most effective ways to support the activity of a child is by appreciating it
in the most honest way possible.
2. A children artwork developed by a child with sincerity and hard work is displayed in
the bedroom of the child. As suggested by Esterbrook et al. (2016), the display of an
artwork encourages the child to indulge more in such artworks.
3. The children are taught perseverance in a playful manner by practicing them to hit a
ball in continuous manner.

Task 4 Supporting cognitive development
1. A child is observed to have gathered matured sense of skills with increase in age. As
suggested by Janus and Reid-Westby (2016), one of the most effective ways to assess
the emerging skills is planning for an experience for the child.
Such experience helps the child to perceive the surrounding environment and thereby
contribute accordingly using appropriate responses. This contribution to the external
environment indicates that the emerging skill in the child is increasing.
Once the emerging skills are observed in children, it is the duty of the elders
surrounding the child to help the child enhance these skills further. A child of very
young age is guided by the parents continuously to the extent possible. In such cases,
the parents can involve elder children in the games played by the children. This will
ensure that the children come in contact with other children older than them. The
playing capacity of the older children will inspire the younger child to improve the
movements of the hands and feet. This will in long term help in the strengthening of
the muscles. This contribution of the peers in the growth of a child is beneficial for
the physical growth of the child.
2. An experience involving a child is chosen for identifying the emerging skills of that
child. This experiment involves identification of different numbers, matching of
shapes and colors and sorting of objects. Such an experiment is expected to be
suitable for a child of preschool age. For the purpose of this experiment, a range of
materials such as coloring books, objects of different shapes, number toys have been
arranged. It is children who teach the other children in the form of learning games as
compared to actual serious learning sessions.

A. The child is expected to be fascinated by the experiment arrangement. The
child will instantly start touching and feeling such toy games. The child will
be trying to find the favorite toy.
B. The experiment is arranged in such a way that the child needs to figure out the
number “3” from the arrangement set of number toys from “0” to “5”. These
numbers will not be arranged in a sequence. The child needs to go through all
the number toys and locate the exact number “5”.
C. Such experiences of number identification have a long lasting impact on the
development of cognitive skills. This is because, by such experiments, the
identification of number “5” will be permanently etched in the brain of the
child. This way, the development of the child brain will reach an advanced
stage.
D. After the success of this experience in the manual form. The same experiment
can be arranged using the technology. In technological set up, the digits will
be displayed in the screen. From the digits displayed, the child has to identify
the required digit.
Task 5 Supporting communication development
1. For the purpose of the group experience consisting of the preschoolers, the Aesop’s fable is
selected. As suggested by Martin-Biggers et al. (2016), the experience of a story book is
always enjoyed by the children. The summary of the proposed experience including the
details of the book have been stated below:

The experience of this storybook has been really successful for the children. The storybook
was appropriate for the age of the preschoolers in terms of text, pictures and overall content.
The illustration of the book was attractive enough for the children. The lengths of the stories
being not too long were covered in small sessions. The appeal of the story book was
interesting enough for the children. The stories had interesting content for the children.
The book was chosen for the simplicity and short length of the stories. The characters
depicted in the story will be illustrated using the puppets. The story will be read out by one
instructor and alongside another instructor will use the puppet to depict the different
characters.
2. The children have been observed to be attracted towards interesting and innovative
experiences. An interesting story book experience always turns out to be an enjoyable
experience for the children. Before the initiation of the experience, the children can be
asked about their favorite characters. An interesting illustration of the book displayed
in the screen will evoke a sense of interest among the children.

4. Apart from English, French can be chosen for the purpose of communication with the
children in the following three ways:
The Letter toys of the language can be used to let the children identify the letters.
The Story reading sessions consists of the stories in the French language.
Appropriate Audio Visuals in the French language is used.
5. The importance of learning the mother tongue is essential. As Otgaar et al. (2018), the
mother tongue helps in the cognitive development of the child. In this regard, the
immediate members surrounding the child, the family members must communicate
with each other in the mother tongue.
