Introduction
Classroom design is also called the learning space and must be collaborative, multimodal
and flexible. The classroom is the place where the young minds will gain knowledge and thus it
effective design is one of the major criteria for the purpose of effective education. The classroom
is designed for the young children that are aged between the age of 5 to 7 years. The theme for
the selected classroom will be a neat and organized theme. The classroom will have the plenty of
provision of keeping the books of the children so that it can accommodate a maximum of 15
children.

The schedule is designed for the preschool kids that will be getting accustomed to the books and
also will be developing the social skills by mixing with the other kids. The classes are scheduled
from Monday to Saturday and Sunday. The various activities that are taken in to account for the
kids are circle time, playing with toys, other playing activities. There is another curriculum like

music, dance, drawing for the kids so to keep them busy with different types of activities form
the creative activities. The story time is exclusively kept to keep the kids glued to their seats for
the adventurous and the interesting stories to build up their sense of querying and listening
abilities. The developmental learning classes are kept within the schedule to help the kids get
accustomed to the alphabets, numbers and the small rhymes.

Classroom Description
The classroom is based on a preschool room design and is designed for easy accessibility
of the of the disabled children. the classroom is also built keeping in the mind that it will help in
easy learning for the children (Gartrell, 2014). The classroom will also have the provision of the
bathroom and will have an entrance from the north-west direction. Considering the point that the
classroom will be spacious enough to accommodate 15 children, there will plenty of scope of
activity so that the children do not feel left out or bored. The centre place will be the most
spacious region and will include the circle time so that the altogether 15 children can at the same
time perform the circle time. The room will have book self at the south-west position and will
also include a computer desk which will have 2 to 3 computers for the children. The reading
space will help the kids to go through the selective books that are exclusively kept for the
preschool kids (Dickinson et al., 2012). In between the reading space and the writing space
present adjacent to the computer desk will contain the communication board. This
communication board will have small informative pictures or texts explicitly kept to attract the
attention of the kids (Ganz et al., 2012). The eastern part of the classroom will have the
whiteboard for the teacher and adjacent of this section will also have the art table, correction
area, an additional two computers will also be kept here along with the math materials. The math
materials will help in building the aptitude of the kids (Cohrssen et al., 2013). The western
section will have the puzzles, blocks and the point and find areas. This zone will house the
magnetic boxes that will help the kids to play with.
Centre in the classroom
A neat and organized theme is chosen for the classroom. The reading zone will have the
books generally related to the preschool level the other materials that will be placed in this zone

are: headphones (to let the kids read without getting distracted), mp3 players (with good
ambience music), notepad (to jot down the page number), and bookmarks. The computer braille
and the computer desk will have the computers and the other materials in this zone will include:
headphones for listening to the audio, stylus to draw and paint digitally, notepad to jot down
information, mic to record voice. The puzzle boxes will store the puzzles that will be exclusively
used for puzzle solving and this zone will hold different materials like: jigsaw puzzle, picture
puzzle, books on puzzle solving, visual guides, containers that will hold the puzzles. The circle
located in middle portion of the classroom will house the circle time for the kids, this will not
include materials like: small gaming kits, toys, scribble notepads, tricycles, and wheelchairs. The
hooks and the cubbies will house the bird cut-outs, the hand drawings of the kids, cut outs of the
cartoon characters, cut-outs of butterflies, cut outs of stars. The Art centre will have the table and
the boards that will help the kids to scribble, drawing boards, sketch pens, crayons, white papers.
Conclusion
Thus from the above study, it can be concluded that the classroom design is vital for the type of
students it will accommodate. For this study, a neat and organized themed classroom is selected
that will help the kids to learn and play to the maximum extent.
