Module 1:
As an early childhood specialist I am responsible for helping and responding to the questions
and informing the parents of children with disabilities. It is my job to conduct education and
informative programs for the families and other professional dealing with children with
special needs. It is my duty to plan, direct and manage the events of the various early
childhood education initiatives. I should strive to give my best to increase my efforts in
increasing the quality and quantity of information regarding parent education. It is also my
responsibility to train and involve other parents in education efforts and also promote
education as a whole. Being a early childhood specialist, I should try to build relationships
with families of disabled children, educate these children with special needs, keep myself
updated about current laws regarding disabilities and participate in programs to collect more
data regarding the same. These form the core of my responsibilities and duties.
Module 2:
The sensory awareness mainly deals with meditation. It is very important for us to keep some
time aside for meditation. I always take some time off to meditate. It not only relaxes my
body but also relaxes my mind. There are many uses of sensory benefits that I can think of.
The most important aspect of sensory awareness is that it makes our senses more acute. This
also increases our perception capability and our understanding of the physical body. By doing
meditation I feel like I experience more joy and pleasure from doing simple tasks and feel
myself rejuvenated. It also changes my mindset and preferences. For example, previously I
used to like loud rock music but now I get more pleasure listening to soothing classical
music. I think sensory awareness makes our bodily senses connect to our environment fully.
Teaching this important things to children will benefit them greatly.

Module 3:
Being a passionate educator of early childhood music, I feel like I am responsible for
bringing the joy of music to these children. My musical journey started during my early
childhood. I started playing a guitar when I was eight years old. This interest in music was
further expanded when I met my first music teacher in school. This musical journey was
further increased when I started teaching music to undergraduate and high school students. I
gave them private music classes in groups of five and had a healthy discussion on the
different types of music and its benefits. I also taught music to children with special needs in
many different schools. As an early childhood music educator, it is my responsibility to teach
young children different musical instruments and songs. It is also my duty to keep an open
eye to notice children with special musical talents and recognize and bring those talents out.
Module 4:
I feel like pointillism is very important while educating young children about the benefits of
identifying patterns in drawings. The pattern or picture needs to be recognized by the children
by identifying similar dots or patterns. During the time I taught at kindergarten children, I
saw a 3 year old boy identifying an elephant by the pattern of it. This pattern was shaped in
the form of an elephant and was made out of paper. I feel that not only using paper but by
using blocks of different colors, a child can identify different objects just by visually
remembering their pattern. This leads to increased memorizing ability in children. Even now
as an early educator I try to teach small children the importance of pointillism by letting them
identify objects all by themselves from different colored patterns.
Module 5:
Reimagining of texts is a way of understanding concepts and construct meaning by using
different informational and graphic texts. As a childhood educator, I have used this technique

even before during teaching kindergarten children. I had tried to teach young people the use
of identifying important bits of colorful texts and graphic images to let them slowly develop
the meaning of it. This can be achieved by the children by teaching them those strategies that
can be used to derive meaning of specific words. This will help them identify with those
words better. In the future, I should be able to help the students recognize different texts
forms and features. The students trained in reimagining should be able to identify their own
strengths and weaknesses and work on them.
Module 6:
Movement and dance activities are very important for small children and toddlers. I feel the
experience they gather from dancing classes makes them happy and speeds up their
movement development. This can be implemented during recess when the children are left to
run around the playground and play together. As an early childhood educator, it is my
responsibility to teach young children the importance movement and dancing. This can be
achieved by teaching young children activities like moving egg shakers, wearing bells and
dancing, developing jumping skills, moving like ocean animals and practicing balance.
Module 7:
There are many freely available resources that I can distribute among children being a early
childhood educator myself. The main resources among them that I frequently use are: Free
lesson plans which are loaded with different activities, Printable info graphics that uses
images and diagrams to teach children important topics, digital spotlights that include a
gallery of images to describe important topics and Quickreads that discusses topics with short
texts and images. I feel these resources can be actively managed and distributed to help
young children learn about different important topics and make them more educated without
stressing them too much.

Module 8:
Being an early childhood educator it is very important for me to instill creative and critical
thinking in young children through media projects. Some of the important media projects that
I feel can be used to instill creative thinking in young children are: Organizing a geocaching
treasure hunt with young children using GPS devices and internet, by encouraging small kids
to tell their stories online and share it with the public, getting the kids into the gardens and
encouraging them to plant trees and practice gardening, motivating the children start a digital
scrapbook and ask the children to start making and producing their own songs and albums.
All of the above mentioned media projects can help kids develop critical and creative
thinking skills.
Module 9:
As an early childhood educator, it is very important to instill in young children the
importance of community and neighborhood. A community is where a group of people live
and work together. I feel it is very important for a child to understand the importance of
families and friends while living in a society. A group of people living in a small community
go to the same school or places. So, for a young child his neighborhood friends are his
lifelong friends. A child’s family is the most important part of his life as they are his biggest
support. I have always tried to instill values and community living in children.
Module 10:
Reflection is a very important part of successful art making and content learning, especially
among kids. Being a childhood educator I feel that reflective thinking can be used to make an
activity more engaging. A child should get sufficient amount of time to reflect on the art

piece or drawing he or she has made. By giving this reflection time, we are actually helping
the child make a bond or connection with the art piece and increase clarity. These reflections
can be maintained by the student either in journals or thorough other drawings and designs.
