1DIPLOMA IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION AND CARE
Identify two benefits for the Education and Care Service when they employ educators who
identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait islanders of Australia make up a significant part of the
country’s population. Their cultural differences sometimes make it difficult for them to adjust in
to the education and care services being offered currently. This also causes many of these
individuals to not opt for the services being offered, thereby stopping their children from getting
proper education and care beginning from a young age and also having a larger number of drop-
outs in higher education. Therefore, in order to educate the children of this community, it would
be highly beneficial for any such related organization to employ the indigenous individuals or at
least who identify with the said community.
Two such benefits include:

have can provide significant value in the marketplace and can adopt a major role in
helping organizations take advantage of the local opportunities which they provide.
Furthermore, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment Strategy development
could allow concerned organizations to employ the varied experiences, knowledge and
perspectives of these people. This can substantially validate and affect business outcomes
positively.
2) Expansion of awareness and knowledge of the non-indigenous staff
Deeper understanding of the cultural heritage of the indigenous people and the issues
which lie within the non-indigenous staff could create new business opportunities by
engaging Aboriginal and Torres Strait stakeholders. This would increase cultural

communities. This in turn would help reach the further corners of the country which were
earlier unreachable.
