Early puberty
Puberty is considered to be a physical change process which occurred in children body and
reflect through maturity and convert in adult body which is said to be found capable of sexual
reproduction. This is initiated from change in hormones which has signalled from brain to the
areas like testes in boys and ovaries in girls. It can be said that this is the period in which
adolescents become capable of reproduction and reach their sexual Maturity. In case the
process of puberty is started for an individual before age of nine for boys and eight for girls,
it is set as early puberty or precious puberty. There have been various researches consider
while analysing the behaviour of individual and the process of puberty, the article reflect that
early maturing of girls or boys could reflect a psychological struggle that is associated with
physical and emotional aspects of teenagers. The major impact of early adolescence among
the girls could be identified through emotional stress, mood swings, increase in aggression,
frustrating behaviour. As per the study in 2018 by Mendle include that girls who are
generally entering their puberty significantly earlier are found to have mental health concern
risk. This risk maybe later becomes cost for depression (npr.org).
The study by American Academy of paediatrics reflects that in boys puberty development is
also found earlier which tends to be sooner than that of proceeding generations. Early
adolescence is not only impacting the emotional aspect of individuals but also impacting
physical constraints Like childhood obesity, effect of chronic stress as the study reflected that
the hormonal response due to early puberty may cause for abuse or neglect in the family.
Other than this the physical aspect or impact of early puberty is also making an individual
look different from that of others. For example in case of girls the body shape due to breast
buds or for boys the body here’s proud could be exposed which will not only make them look
physically different but also embarrassed and increase mental stress level (npr.org).

This impact can be understood through one of the example or case. The article include the
case of a nine-year-old girl that was with psychotherapist and started to feel ashamed and
conscious while playing sports that is soccer due to early puberty and her changing body.
That little girl was not willing to wear sports dress with your teammates due to change of
body shape. This reflects that the early puberty or girls with only maturity are facing more
emotional distress and uneasy feeling due to major changes like menses, and breast increase
which is more prominent physically. This reflects increase in risk of anxiety and depression
in such individuals (npr.org).
Parents, teachers must consider or focus to put their children with all the developments and
understand the initial clues like boy refusing to wear deodorant or taking shower. They help
with the kids considering emotional and social hurdles could be challenging but me helpful
for children to decrease the risk of depression, anxiety or any other mental stress. One of the
most convenient ways is to initiate talking to their children at the age of six or seven so as to
make them feel safe, mentally prepared and confident (npr.org).
