The act of writing begins being imitated by children younger than 2 years,
through sketches and symbolic markers reflecting their ideas and thoughts
(Rowe & Neitzel 2010; Dennis & Votteler 2013). This is the beginning of a
series of phases through which children learn how to write (see' Emergent
Writing Stages'). Emerging written skills are powerful predictors of children's
