INTRODUCTION
The healthcare and the education at the early stages of the individual, or the child to
determine its better growth and development. The education gained at a early stage, act as a
foundation for the individual. This report will cover the guidelines for safeguarding, protection
and welfare of the children (Staab, 2017). Along with it, the report covers the details on
protection at early year stage and involvement of the legislation and safeguarding that contribute
in the development of the policy and procedure.
Q1. legislation and guideline for safeguarding the kids
There are been various laws or rules and regulations that are been implemented to
safeguard the children's in the society. Few of the laws are:
Working together to safeguard children's (2013): It is an act that is been drafted t
protect and safeguard the kids or children's in the society. It states that a children's need is
most important and the benefits of the child is given the priority. The professional who
remain in contact with the children's will identify the risks and threats of individual or
potential abusers.
Protection of children's Act 1999: This Act is a set of rules that act as a framework to
protect the children's from the individuals or group of people who can prove as the threat
for the children's. The people who are been identified as threat or unsuitable to work with
kids are been avoided any sort of contact with the children's through their work or
profession.
The Disclosure and Barring service: It is a NGO, public body which act as checking
body to recruit the adults or individuals that are applying for the jobs or services related
to children's and vulnerable elders. They ensure the safety measures and assess the
criminal records and other factors of an individual before recruiting him in the service of
kids or children's.
The Children's Act 2004: It is an act which is established to safeguard the rights of the
children. It will guide all the governmental bodies that work for children's welfare and
education (Newkirk, Perry-Jenkins and Sayer, 2017). It see through it that standards
decided for the children's are been met and government is taking regular check in it.

Q2 policies and procedures related to the safety of children in early years
Some of the policies and procedures that are been related to the safeguarding of the
children's at early years are:
Security Policy: Prior to the admission of the children's in nursery, the individual will
have to fill the 'Collection of Child Authorisation form' to gather the details about
parents or guardians of the kids (Natale and et.al., 2017).
Safeguarding Policy: this policy will look after that welfare and protection of the
children's are been taken care off. The childcare will partner with the DBS to ensure that
the safeguarding processes are been taken into consideration.
Behaviour Policy: it will look after that the behaviour of the individual or the childcare
organisation is appropriate and suitable towards the kids or the children and the
organisation train the children's in an positive environment (Bergström and Söderström
Högling, 2017).
Disease control policy: This policy will look after the disease control in the children's
and take the preventive measures to ensure the well being of the kids. They will look
after that the kids get proper vaccination and medical support in order to protect them
and other children's in the society.
Child protection policy: this policy helps the government as well as the childcare
organisation to safeguard the kids in regard to any sort of risky environment and look
after the safety and well being of the children's at a child care centre.
Q3. Legislation and guidelines in the development of policy and procedures of safeguarding
The legislation and guidelines that are been discussed by the government for the welfare
of kids or children's will play a crucial role in the development of the procedures and policies
that are been drafted for the safeguarding of children's at early stages (Staab, 2017). Some of the
basic functions of legislation is:
the legislation will look after that proper rules and regulations are been developed and
implemented in order to safeguard the children's.
It will see through that the laws are been implemented and followed efficiently on the
individual as well as the organisational level at a childcare centre. This will help the
government or legislation to ensure safety of the children's.
