In this contemporary world the hospitality industry is most developing and revenue generating
industry that helps in the economic growth of the country. The hospitality industry is at the large
scale and includes the various sectors such as lodging and accommodation, tourism and
travelling, foods and beverages, event planning, entertainment and recreation etc. In this
competitive business environment the hospitality industry is flourishing itself by gaining the

present report is the study of : EasyHotel” a super budget hotel based in London. The hotel has
multiple International Hotel franchise and operates in 40 different geographical locations all over
the globe majorly in Europe. The report will outline the size and scope of the hospitality industry
and contemporary skills required in the hospitality industry. Further in the report macro and
micro environment analysis of hospitality industry is conducted in context of easy hotel and in
the end the current and potential trends affecting the hospitality industry are outlined.

lower performance and productivity in the EasyHotel. Therefore it is recommended to EasyHotel
to regularly train their staff by conducting training and development session. The Easy Hotel
should also adopt change management in order to effectively utilize technology and to make
workers adaptable towards the changes. It is highly suggested to the hospitality industry to
maintain good customer service in order to increase sales and brand reputation (Singh and
Jaykumar, 2019).

CONCLUSION
It is concluded from the above study that hospitality industry is the wide industry and contains
multiple varied sectors and all has different interrelated job roles. The travel and tourism and
food and beverage sector of the hospitality industry are major contributors in the economy of

flavours and taste of food
Team working skills: for the role of hospitality industry the team working skills are highly
important as every department whether operational or functional has teams for different tasks
therefore team working skills are important for smooth flow of work (Qureshi and et. al., 2019) .
Critically evaluate the skill gaps in the operational roles of the EasyHotel
It is critically evaluated that in EasyHotel there is lack of organisational, technical and
customer service skills. The housekeepers are well trained and posses’ knowledge of modern
cleaning equipment like mops, vacuum cleaners, window blending etc. The sous chef also lacks
in technology related to kitchen department such as highly modified refrigerators, and other
technological advanced equipment (Francis and Baum, 2018). The kitchen porter and
housekeeper lacks in organising skills which not only make the place look untidy but also
consumes more time to access items during need. The waiters and waitresses lacks in customer
service skills they are less skilled and trained for the service of food and drinks and in talking to
the guest.
