The aim of the study is to understand the reason why people are unable to trust the online
auction site eBay. The focus of the essay will be to understand the reason why eBay is successful
in attracting people even after facing various types of risks in their online business. The essay
will conclude in identifying the reason how eBay has been successful in giving their users the
reasons to trust and make their payments secure. The essay will argue about how eBay has been
successful in constructing a community of people on their site and provides a foundation of
building the trust between the company and the customers. Based on the trust theory the paper
also isolates eBay’s community trust model which consists of seven elements which work
together to give the users a reason to trust the company and make secure payments. Roth, (2016)
had made a previous research by a survey which was done twice the average sales price. He had
more likely explained in his survey that the members who are working in the company had worse
information than the bidders who used to sell goods through the company website. The aim of
the research paper is to conduct the research on the payment security for the customers of eBay.
The paper will be focused to understand the advantages of the popular methods of payment
which are used by other auctioning companies and the payment method which is used by eBay.

it could be observed that using the information strategies made it possible for eBay to become a
leader in this type of online business organization. They wanted to expand in not only their
products but also their customer base and global reach. Riefa, (2018) argues that eBay offers a
large variety of products which appeals to the customer which ranges from individual sellers to
corporations from all over the world.
According to Roth, (2016) customer service is the ultimate value proposition of eBay as
because here the customers can always have the convenience, variety of goods and services,
security of transaction and accessibility in all the forms of online business. In the words of
Stryszowska, (2015) he describes that eBay should develop specific information technology
department effectiveness and efficiency metrics and should continuously benchmark themselves
against the competitor brands in making their payments secured. He also discusses various tools
which can be used in this research analysis where the company aware the arising issues of
payment secure and will better understand the customer behavior.
