Topic:” Language and communication issues the cohort of emotional and
behavioural disorder student.”
Communication is considered as one of the essential process through which an individual
is able to share their through and prospective with others (Barlow and et. al., (2014)). It is
considered as vital need of the human. In order to present these expression effective so that
others can easily understand them, proper implementation of language is necessary. It helps in
establishing connection with the society therefore, proper knowledge and training is provided
from the childhood (Carl and et. al., (2013)). During this process some children faces various
issues regarding emotional and behavioural disorder. Some of the traits of such disorders are
like, impulsive, hyperactive, aggressive, immaturity, depression, unable to learn, anxiety and so
on. Both the disorders are creating huge impact on the growth and development of the children
(Copeland and et. al., (2013)). The major reason behind these problems are identified as brain
disorder, improper diet, family problems, etc. These disease is creating huge impact on the
understanding and knowledge of the student (Goldstein and Walker,( 2014)). This report is based
on the languages and communication related issues being faced by these children. It contain
information related to the challenges faced by them, steps in order to support them (Newby and
et. al. (2015)).
People suffering from such kind of problems are usually not supported by the society.
They do not show any kind of love and affection to the patients. It increases their problems, as
they are not able to manage thing without any support (Nock and et. al., (2013)). The behavioral
and emotional disorder influence the speaking and understanding ability, due to which
development of the child get affected. Students suffering these disorders have hard time during
their classrooms (Sarchiapone and et. al., (2014)). As they are not able to speak and understand
fast and properly. It directly impact on their reading, spellings, problem solving approach and
writing skills. On the basis of their level of suffering the disorder is distributed into three stages,
such as level 3, level 2c, level 2b, level 2a and level 1a (Singh and et. al., (2014)). It is structured
in ascending order. In this level 3 represents the less disorders however, level represents high
level of disorder into the individual. In order to effectively understand this various finding and
research takes place (Winnick and Porretta, (2016)). On the basis of that it is analysed that
approx. 76% of children are tested above 2nd level, however 21% are identified above this level.
Therefore, some positive efforts can make huge difference into their like (Yatawara and et. al.,

(2016)). One of the biggest step in such direction is takes by schools. They are working in order
to provide equal opportunities to their students. For this they are developing some special
strategies in order to provide simple services (Behaviour Disorders and language Impairment in
school age children. (2017)).
Children suffering from such kind of disorders are associated with some traits and
characteristic. Some of them are following:
ď‚· Articulation disability: It is related to the incorrect letter pronunciation issues of an
individual. During this problem child is not able to make correct sound of any word. In
this situation various types are analysed such as children replace the word with some
other, add more letters into some specific words or make some different sound while
speaking (Emotional Disturbance. (2015)). This kind of problems are mostly identifies in
small children, after reaching certain age limit such issues are automatically get resolved.
The schools are also making efforts in pre- nursery and nursery class in order to make
proper pronunciation of letters.
ď‚· Apraxia while speaking: In this disorder individual is not able to make effective and
correct pronunciation due to problems related to the structure of the vocal chord. There
are various reasons due to which vocal chord of an individual get affected. Some of them
are like tumor, injury and strokes (Barlow and et. al., (2014)). It creates direct impact on
the speech motor of the person, due to which sound get disturbed. This distortion disturbs
the pressure creating points due to which sound of words become inconsistent and results
in the form of voice error. These kind of problems are permanent and cannot be
corrected.
ď‚· Vocabulary disability: This problem is based on the disturb resonance of the children,
due to which variation in pitch, intensity and duration is identified. This results into the
transformation of intensity of voice, in which soft voice is turned into loud and louder
one is converted into softer (Carl and et. al., (2013)). In order to resolve this problem
various solutions are available in which individual is able to remove or reduce the error
by controlling breaths. Along with this various therapies are also available that generates
effective results.
ď‚· Fluency problem: According to this problem individual is not able to have effective flow
of language. While speaking when an individual is identified with hesitation, making
2

work repetition and creating sounds like umm and ahh are considered under fluency
problem (Copeland and et. al., (2013)). This can be also resolved with the help of therapy
and practice.
All the above mentioned disorders are generally identified in children of small age group. As
they are not able to understand proper technique of language pronunciation, due to which their
communication process does not produce effective results (Goldstein and Walker, (2014)). In
order to resolve them certain development rules and regulations are developed. With the help of
that individual is able to take necessary step and able to achieve effective results. The probability
of resolving these problem in children of younger age group is lower. As they are not able to
accept the changes easily and does not generate effective results (Newby and et. al. (2015)).
Therefore, emotional and behavioural disorder children are not able to develop effective and
proper pronunciation of any language. It directly create impact on their communication skills.
Along with this they are not able to understand things easily and generate effective outcomes.
Some of the special approaches that are considered by the teachers and school administration to
deal with them are following:
ď‚· Spelling test of such students are not considered for analysing their ability.
ď‚· Mathematical problems are converted into questions and solutions.
ď‚· Simple communications steps are implemented.
In this process spelling test is not considered for analysing the ability of student. Through this
step confidence of the student is developed. Similarly, some changes are introduced into the
mathematical problems also, where students have to read and the questions and on the basis of
that steps and approach have to answer. With the help of this method drastic change is noticed
into the confidence and personality of the students (Nock and et. al., (2013)). On the basis of
above process it is analysed that children are not able to score good in spellings and reading. It
shows that they are not having effective communication. It clearly, reflects their language and
communication disorder. They are not comfortable with the literature and reading material.
Sometime teachers are put extra efforts in order to make students comfortable, on the other hand
some of them does not show any interest toward this. It reflects the support of the society for the
disable children. With the help of these methodologies schools teachers and administration are
able to provide huge support and helps in understanding the things. With this steps they are
making various difference into the process and introducing various simple rule and instruction

for the emotional and behavioral disorder children, such as always be on time, handle the
students politely, do not disrespect them on the basis of their disability and always try sometime
that helps in building their confidence. People suffering from such kind of health issues
disruptive behavior, due to which they easily get hyper (Sarchiapone and et. al.,(2014)). In such
situation the mentor should be able to handle them properly, so that it does not harm others.
There are various development approaches are considered at various level such as social,
emotional language and thinking. Through this step people are also trying to establish healthy
relationship with these people. In this process they are implementing various skill development
activities such as vocabulary and language development. With the help of these steps they
providing platform to their these students thorough which they can interact with the society.
Along with this they are also offering various toys and food stuffs in order o make them
comfortable.
However, various treatments are also available such as therapy, meditation and medical
help. With the support of treatment huge differences are identified. In this process first therapy
is related to the special alphabet series (Behaviour Disorders and language Impairment in school
age children. (2017)). It is specially developed for the disables, named as International Phonetic
Alphabet. It helps in learning the skill of developing indirect sound into the world. This method
is mostly effective for the individual who is facing various challenges in making sound and
generating combination of the letters. In the same order another effective approach is service
provision. It is considered as one of the traditional method. In this method students are provided
with the support of medical treatments. This process is named as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Treatment (CBT). This is one of the long term process, in this process patient is provided with
deep levels of the treatments. With the help of all these treatments an individual is able to
improve their condition (Singh and et. al., (2014)). During these process huge amount of patients
and strong will power is required, as these methodologies are vary time consuming. Along with
this treatment and therapies various other techniques are also available such as acupressure and
yoga. With the help of acupressure pressure is applied at some specific points. Through which
resonance can e maintained effectively. It helps in maintaining the pitch and voice intensity, due
to which pronunciation of an individual can be improved. On the other hand yoga and meditation
also helps in resolving speech errors (Winnick and Porretta, (2016)). With the help of these
approach children is able to control their breath, due to which they are able to create pressure on

various part of their throat. Through these methods speaking errors of the individuals can be
resolved (Yatawara and et. al., (2016)). It helps in improving the language and communication
skills of the children.
On the basis of above essay it is inferred that children are facing various challenges due
to the emotional and behavioral disorder. It is creating huge impact on the growth and life of the
students. They are not able explore equal opportunities and get success. In order to provide
support there various groups from society are coming forward, such as school and collages. They
are making various changes into the structure so that their difficulty level gets reduced. For this
they have introduced new study structure for them, in which the students are being analysed on
the basis of their spelling and pronunciation. As there are various factors are identified that are
creating voice errors. Along with this various changes are implemented into the mathematical
problem solving approaches, in this process they have to provide explanation without
implementing any mathematical calculation. The last is based on the making the communication
process simple. Along with this various medical treatments are also provided to related to this
disorder. Through which user is able to control their breath, create pressure on the specific area.
Through which pitch and intensity of the voice can be controlled. Apart form that there are
various conditions are still available who solutions are still not identified. Therefore,
developments are required through which permanently damaged area can be replaced.
