HLT205 Assignment: Evidence-Based Practice Poster Design

This project presents an evidence-based practice (EBP) poster designed for health promotion professionals. The poster defines EBP as an interdisciplinary method for clinical practice decision-making, emphasizing its role in maintaining the well-being of professionals. It outlines the importance of EBP in developing health promotion programs and maintaining a safe workplace. The assignment details the barriers to EBP, such as lack of administrative support and research time, and provides strategies to overcome these barriers, including implementing effective policies and enhancing knowledge. The enablers of EBP, such as effective support and resource allocation, are also highlighted. The poster design aims to inform colleagues about EBP, its application in health promotion, and its significance in professional practice, supported by references to relevant literature. The justification explains the poster's use in presenting key concepts and overcoming barriers to adopting EBP.

• Evidence-based practice (EBP) is defined
as an interdisciplinary method evolved in
clinical practice that outlines an approach
to specify the professionals in identifying
the most relevant decision making

• Occupational health aims to maintain
highest degree of social, mental and
physical well-being of every professional
hence to maintain that EBP is required to
eliminate possible risk in health practice
to achieve better outcomes.
ROLE IN HEALTH PROMOTION
• The development of Evidence-based health
promotion programs is the major role of
evidence-based practice in promoting health
and safe workplace.
• Different models are developed comprising
the process of planning, executing and
evaluating the health program (Murdaugh,
Parsons & Pender, 2018).
• Evidence-based health promotion programs
emphasize on treatment and preventing of a
problem thus maintaining a safe workplace.
• Different action plans are included in
evidence-based health promotion programs,
to establish an accurate health promotion
strategy and thus maintaining safety
information and records.

accordingly allocate the responsibility of

through health promotion campaigns,
plans and programs.
1. Barriers embedding in evidence-based practices includes the following (Russ et al.,
2015) :
• Absence of administrative help.
• Lack in research time.
• Lack of idea and knowledge relating to evidence-based practice research.
• Absence of values required for evidence-based practice.
2. Enablers embedding in evidence-based practices include the following (Russ et al., 2015):
• Presence of effective support recommendations.
• Proper education
• Presence of adequate resource allocation.
• Presence of realistic timeline with small work initiation.

JUSTIFICATION
In this assignment poster design method is selected for helping the colleagues to adopt evidence-based
practice as the crucial step to understand various effective approaches in clinical practice as it
comparatively easy to interpret all the necessary ideas relating to the concept. Harvey & Kitson, (2015)
highlighted the benefit of using evidence-based practice in understanding the advantage of decision
making in clinical practice as a part of their professional practice. The researcher explained the positive
impact of evidence-based practice in developing the health promotion strategy. In this poster design
the definition of evidence-based practice was explained stating the importance of decision-making
practice. The primary role of EBP was explained in health promotion through the development of EBP
health program comprising of preparation, execution and evaluation (Ellis, 2019). The barriers that
hinder the development of decision making was explained in this design to understand various
approaches that can be highlighted to overcome those barriers and learning about the effective
facilitators that boost the concept of evidence based practice. Leach, Hofmeyer & Bobridge, (2016)
stated that use of evidence-based practice has a significant effect on developing the research skill of
undergraduate research student. The researcher identified the barrier that was responsible for decreased
approach of evidence-based practice and highlighted that barrier in order to overcome the facilitation of
evidence-based practice. Hence, this poster design approach will help in developing the idea regarding
the basic principles of evidence-based practice (Reichenpfader, Carlfjord & Nilsen, 2015)
