1.0 Introduction
Eclipse Vans Company deals with production of modern, luxurious off road and touring vans.
The company further sells them to their customers in the Northern suburbs at affordable prices.
A business report on the methods of increasing both quantity and profits of the company’s sales.
This company produces the vans in batches with regards to the type and model of the
vans .Batches estimation for preparation cost for each batch production is $5000.The
preparation cost is taken into consideration when calculating the profits for the business.
The retail price of the vans is calculated depending on the model and type of the van, while cost
price for each van is calculated, excluding batch preparation cost and an additional cost of 20%
profit margin to all vans and associated accessories .On purchase the customer pay a deposit of
10% and the balance to be paid upon delivery of the van.
In2018 ,Joeline increased the sales by introducing option pack offer to her customers .The option
pack offer varies depending on the type and model of the van and could be purchased at a
discounted price.

This company has three workers that is sales person 1, 2 and 3 who market their products. In
2017 and 2018 the sales persons varied in the number of sales they made. The Salespersons sold
the models as follows, salesperson 1 (162), salesperson 2(191), salesperson 3 (248).This
variation maybe due to different marketing skills they acquired, as observed in the table above.
Sales person 3 has good marketing skills hence he or she was able to sale large number of vans
during this period.

From table 2 ,the most sold model by Eclipse vans company is Adventurer 65(112) and
Adventurer 55 (93) and 50R(82) with the highest sales ($6252960). Tourer 85 is the least sold
van and with less sales to the company.
The table 2 indicates that the company produces more of Adventurers 65 making customers and
sales person to be more familiarized with this model compared to other models such as Tourer
85. Adventurer 65 is also affordable to most customers and fulfills the needs of the customers
through its properties; while Tourer 85 is expensive compared to other models produced by
eclipse company at $ 93,600 while other model range from $ 19,020-55,830.

In 2017 the sales made by the company were $ 1,965,718.00 while in 2018 the sales increase to
$2,582,224. In 2018 the increments in sales was as a result of the option pack introduced by
Joeline in order to maximize on the profits the company makes, unlike 2017 where the sales
were only dependent on the vans.

From table 3, we can see the different salaries issued to the sales persons in 2017 and 2018. In
2017 both the sales persons 1 and 2 were paid $ 45,000 whereas the sales person three was paid $
60,000. In 2018 their salaries increased to $ 47,500 and $ 64,000 respectively. There was a high
increase of the salary of the third person this is because the third person had the highest sales
hence assisting the company in making the highest profit. Despite being paid the basic salary,
there is also a commission of 5% based on the number of sales made by each sales person. This
motivates them hence ensuring that there is maximum sales.
3.0 Conclusion
In conclusion, Eclipse vans company made profits in 2018 $ 2,582,224 compared to 2017 $
1,965,718. This was as a result of the introduction of option pack offer that attracted more
customers. The most sold model by the company was Adventurers 65 which helped in increment
of the profit made in 2018. The company also produced more Adventurer 65 (112) compared to
other models as per table 2 above.

The highest sales person 3 is the senior sales person as per Joeline and she sold 248 vans within a
period of 2 years that is 2017 and 2018, hence this led to increase in both profits and quantity the
company gained.
4.0 Recommendation
Eclipse Vans Company should employ more sales person, with exemplary marketing skills like
the sales person 3 marketing skills in order to increase the sales of the company.
The company should major on the production of Adventurer 65 vans more than other batches of
vans so as to increase sales and make their company known for the brand hence making the
company a reference point.
