The aim of the study is to examine the role of eco-friendly initiatives, strategies and policies within Hillier
restaurant Syon Park consumer decision making.
Objectives:
 To investigate the trend of eco-friendly strategies within hospitality industry.
 To analyse the influence of eco-friendly strategies upon Hillier restaurant Syon park’s customer
decision-making process.
 To identify the challenge facing by Hillier restaurant Syon Park pertaining to implementing eco-
friendly practices.
 To recommend competent practices to Hillier restaurant Syon park regarding effectual eco-friendly
practices.
Section Two: Reasons for choosing this project
The rationale for choosing tis topic is such that it helps to increase the skills and knowledge pertaining to
eco-friendly strategies employed by hospitality industry. Another research for conducting research on this
topic is such that researcher have their own personal interest that helps to raise awareness of this topic.
The topic is important because it assist to examine range of eco-friendly strategies used by the industry to
improve the environment up to some extent.

Horng and et.al., (2017) stated that in hospitality industry, range of companies changes their practices and
focused upon eco-friendly practices such that air-energy preservation, ecological health, quality assurance
of air adoption of environmental awareness etc. However, Yadegaridehkordi and et.al., (2021) shared their
views that hotels embrace recycling and encourage guest to be green so that they all promote environment
towards positive manner. Along with this, they also implement alternative energy sources that helps to save
the environment and take a step towards a local community as well.

Moreover, Chand and Garge (2017) investigated in their study that start save water is also a part of eco-
friendly practices that are employed by organization and they also install different energy saving
technologies that helps to save energy.
Yarış and Yazıcıoğlu (2020) emphasized that such strategies are costly and that is why, it causes negative
impact upon the financial performance of a business. That is why, most of the hotels did not focused upon
such strategy. Along with this, companies also focused upon different eco-friendly practices which require
enough time and for that they requires experts that is also costly method for the company. Hence, most of
the hotels and different organizations working under hospitality industry faces challenge or barrier in order
become environmental responsible.
