1.0 Methodology:
Methodology is an important aspect, which need to be ensured so that perfect outcome of
the project can be achieved. In the following section methodology of the initiated project will be
discussed briefly.
1.1 Methods for managing the Project:
Currently from the project scenario it has been assessed that the initiated project is an e-
commerce project and for management of this type of project there are several of project
management methodologies are accessible. The main project management methodologies which
can be utilized in this case are the agile project management, iterative type of project
management, lean project management and waterfall project management. Considering these
project management methodologies for the e-commerce project in this case iterative type of
project management methodology has been selected. The iterative type of project management
has various types of advantages for the developing the e-commerce project. Currently, this
project management methodology is a variant of iterative methods. In true iterative methods final
version of the product is created for each of the cycle and it is different from agile project
management. In agile type of project management a small portion of the final product is created
in each of the cycle. From this each of the cycle the course of the project is modified depending
on the feedback provided to those smaller portion of the larger product. Particularly for the e-
commerce projects this specific type of iterative project is more beneficial while compared with
the lean type of project management. With iterative type of project management, agile
methodologies for the managing the project can be utilized in this case. Through the agile type of

project management methodology while developing the e-commerce project, it can be ensured
that the project is worth putting the bulk of the gathered resource into.
The iterative type of project management methodologies can be utilized in this case for
developing the current functions of e-commerce project. Developing the software is very much
important aspect for the e-commerce business development. The software of e-commerce project
is important in this aspect as the customers will interact with the whole system with this
developed software. The iterative type of project management methodology is the process of
breaking down the development of the software in some smaller parts. Through this iterative
type of project management methodology feature code of the e-commerce software will be
designed and developed. Further in this case it will be also tested until the underdevelopment
software becomes ready for the consumers. This iterative type of development methodology is
actually important practice of the agile development methodology. For this e-commerce project
it is expected that developed code for the software can be demonstrated to a customer after the
end of the project. The main reason that the iterative type of development methodology has been
selected in this case as it allows more flexibility to the changes which are important for this
project. In this project of e-commerce software development many changes may be required in
future conditions and this can be satisfied through the iterative type of development. In the
traditional type of software development model it is not possible to perform any type of
modification in the previous steps of the project thus traditional type of software development is
not appropriate in this case. Also, this project of e-commerce software consisting designing of
some major application and for that traditional type of software development is not appropriate at
all as there can be various unforeseen problem which does not become visible until the
development starts. Through iterative type of software development process the team of the

project goes through a cycle where each of the iteration is evaluated. From these changes it has
been determined that how the satisfactory end product can be gained. Due to the above identified
cases iterative type of methodology suits very well for the sponsor.
In this case a proper communication plan is important through which the project manager
will be able to communicate with the other project stakeholder. The project manager will
communicate with the project stakeholders by phone call in case of emergency basis. A
mandatory face to face meeting will be done with the project stakeholders for managing the
projects efficiently.
1.2 Measuring the Success:
Currently there are various of indicators which are used for measuring accomplishment of
the project. From the analysis of the project it has been determined that the success factor of the
e-commerce project is currently depending on meeting the deadline of the project. With that the
success factor of the project is also depending on the impact of the project on the community and
institution. The success of the project can be measured by how many transactions have been
done on daily basis. In this aspect the deadline of the project is very much important success
factor as if the project misses its predefined deadline then it is very much obvious that the cost
for the development of the software will be also increased gradually. Also to be successful this
project must be satisfy the community and the institutions, which it is targeting. If the
community and the institutions are not happy with the developed software then there is
requirement of this software. Per day transaction also plays an important role in this case. In this
type of case more number of transaction on daily basis defines that the user is engaged with the
system more. As the transaction is increasing on daily basis the profit of the organization is also
increasing as the profit is depending on each of the transaction. The feedback of the targeted

community is also an important aspect for measuring the success of the project. From this
feedback it can be determined that how the developed project and software is performing in
terms of customer experience and customer satisfaction. Thus in this aspect the main metric for
measuring the success rate of the project is the satisfaction of the customer. Satisfaction of the
customer is very much important in this aspect as it drives the factor of more customer
engagement. For the project to be successful the project must focus on the customers as the
customers is the main source for the profit of the project. More customer engagement defines
that the developed software is very much popular among the community which defines that the
project has been completed with a greater success. Due to this factor the customer satisfaction
has been chosen in this case as more reliable driving factor for the more engagement of the users.
