objectives of company. The biggest role social media played is to channelises the promotional
activity of company at a very limited cost (Huang, Yang and Zheng, 2021). Today due to the
modern technology in the form of e-commerce platform and social media application like
Facebook, Instagram, Snap Chat allowed the businesses to effectively target to million of
customer by channelising the advertisement. The support social media application has given is in
the form of enhancing and strengthening the campaigning by allowing the million of active
customer over these platforms. By delivering one single campaign companies get to reach to
millions of active customers in a very limited time scale. This is a huge change that social media
application has provided to the business houses.
The role social media application and e-commerce platform play is to improve the scope
of selling for the business houses. Today the business venture do not need to open any store
rather to come over the e-commerce platform that seek minimum amount of investment and
provide equivalent opportunity to deliver the sales. The e-commerce market become very
actively especially after the pandemic of covid 19. All big multinational companies like Marks
and Spencer, Tesco and all other are active over the e-commerce application to deliver the tarde.
Comparatively the market is getting bigger every single day (Ingaldi and Ulewicz, 2019). The
role e-commerce platform deliver to the business house in the form of increased platform for
marketing and selling. Customer relationship management is also among the core business area

customer issue and grievances easily. Customer also get to report their issue easily over these
applications. The records clearly denote that in the year 2021 the e-commerce sector has seen a
growth rate of 20.5% which is impressive (MANSUR and et.al., 2019). Due to these applications

The increase influence of social media and e-commerce platform could certainly create a
negative impact over the business operations and companies. Due to emergence of the social
media and e-commerce application the power of customer become greater. Today the customer
completely influence the business decision-making. Due to this application the dominance has
completely shifted towards the consumer. This is considered as a core negative effect business
houses has faced due to the increased use of social media and e-commerce created over business
operations. Further due to this application unauthorized personal speaking on behalf of
companies has also increased (Qin and Jiang, 2019). Today anyone without holding any power
get to speak or comment over company operations and business practice. This could significantly
affect in negative manner over the organisation and its operations. The freedom over social
media to present the individual views and opinion could further motivate the people to give any
comment just to gain a fake publicity. This could somehow damage the brand image of the
business ventures.
The role social media application played is also to reduce the productivity of the
employee work at the organisation. All such people or employee who spend quality time over
social media end up getting less productive as they do not give focus to the regular day to day
activity. This could significant affect and influence the functional efficiency of the employee at
work place. Further the negative effect of social media and e-commerce over company involve
the reduced confidentiality of the companies (Sohaib, Kang and Nurunnabi, 2019). Many times
the confidential information get leak over the social media and e-commerce site. The effect of
this many time brand image of business house get completely demolished. Due to these
platforms competition is getting stronger for the big companies. Small start up get to facilitate
success at these platforms by presenting brand over these medium. All such business ideas that
run online require less capital top start the business which further motivate and allow them to
sale the same product at a low price (Tolstoy and et.al., 2021). The selling of product at a low
price reduce the profits of further other multinational companies. Many times this result into
liquidation of big companies. This is also difficult to track misleading or negative comments
over the social media application. As there is not way to control the presence of individual over
this application which result into unusual commenting in negative manner about the quality
product offer by big companies. This is usually supported by the small start up and emerging
business houses by creating a negative image about other brands over social media and e-

commerce sites. This create a scope of negative publicity over thee platforms that furtehr
demotivate end customer to make a buying decision.
