What is the purpose of the report?
The purpose of the report is to discuss the approach that can be undertaken to develop
an interactive and responsive e-commerce website. The ecommerce website will be
developed for a company that specializes in selling of automobile spare parts. The report
will be selecting an appropriate approach for developing a plan for implementation of the
project. The plan will be developed in consideration with the various functionalities,
including creation of the user profiles in the website, enabling the feature of shopping
carts along with incorporation of features like purchasing history and payment gateway.
The approach to the project of website development will be outlined in this particular
report.

The report is being written to address the approach in which the undertaken website
project will be planned and executed. The report will be considering the major website
functionalities for suggesting the tools, techniques and methods that can be considered
for project execution.

The aim of the report is to discuss the process of execution of an ecommerce website

development project. An ecommerce website can be described as an electronic business
that is capable of sales and purchase of the service goods in an electronic medium such
as internet. The report will be evaluating the strategy of ecommerce website
development and will further discuss the SDLC approach considered. Data privacy is a
crucial consideration of an ecommerce website. The report will be discussing the security
related issue and the privacy concerns related to an ecommerce website.

Methodology
 The ecommerce website development project can be successfully completed only if
an appropriate method is chosen for effective project execution and control (Wei et al.
2014). For this particular project, agile method is considered for successful
development of the ecommerce website. The strategy is to plan the implementation
process of the project as per the agile methods to ascertain that the product is
developed as per the requirements of the clients.
 Agile methodology can be described as a practice of continuous iteration related to
the development and testing of the project that is being implemented (Abrahamsson
et al. 2017). In this method, the requirements and solution to a particular problem
mainly evolve through effective collaboration among the cross-functional teams along
with the self-organizing teams.
SDLC
 The SDLC agile model can be described as a combination of the iterative and the
incremental models that mainly focuses on the adaptability as well as customer
satisfaction (Abdallah and Jaleel 2015). In this method, the iteration continues till
client satisfaction is achieved.
Challenges and Risks
 Certain challenges can be faced by making use of the agile method in implementing
this particular ecommerce development project. The primary challenge being the
schedule. Agile methods generally takes a larger time for project completion as the
project is being implemented till customers’ satisfaction is achieved (Matharu et al.
2015). This issue can be managed by developing an effective working plan at the
beginning of the project so that lesser changes are needed to be made.
 Another challenge that this project might face is related to privacy and security issue

(Cuzzocrea 2014). Since it is an ecommerce website, all the details related to
transactions and customers’ information should be encrypted and securely stored.
 The website is recommended to be hosted on cloud as it requires less maintenance
and allows the use of simple and user-friendly interface (Rittinghouse and Ransome
2017).
Conclusion
The report discusses the scenario of the case and recommends an effective SDLC
approach for execution of the ecommerce website development project. The report
further discusses the challenges that can be faced in making use of agile approach or the
challenges associated with the development of an ecommerce website. Based on the
findings, certain recommendations are made for proper execution of the ecommerce
project.
