INTRODUCTION
Economic for business is concerned with production, distribution and
consumption of goods and services of the business. This involves studying how
businesses make choices about allocation of resources that they have. In this report
research about an industry will be done and in this market structure of the industry and
company will be researched. Report will also involve discussion about factors affecting
demand and supply and elasticity. In addition to this impact of a recent macroeconomic
event will also be included in report. Industry selected for this project is media and
entertainment television industry.
Endemol Shine Australia
Company selected for the purpose of this report is Endemol Shine Australia, this
is an Australian production company founded in 1972 and in 2015 it merged Endemol
Australia and Shine Australia. Company is headquartered at Sydney, New South Wales
and parent company of this is Banijay. Company produces multiple television programs
across different channels and MasterChef Australia. This company is merger of
Endemol Australia and Shine Australia, Endemol Australia was largest independent
television production and distribution group, it was founded in 1972 and was subsidiary
of Dutch-based media company Endemol from 2009-2015 (Foster, 2020). Shine
Australia was founded in 2010 by Shine Group and several shows were produced by
Endemol Shine Australia since 2010.

Media and entertainment industry includes films and television, radio and print
media. Further segments in this include movies, TV shows, radio shows, newspaper,
magazines and books. Media and entertainment television is only limited to TV shows
because it does not involve movies, and print media. Television is a medium that is
used to disseminate information, news and entertainment that involve moving pictures
and sound. Industry that produces shows and distributes them on television is known as

can be fictional and non fictional for the purpose of entertainment of audience (Aggarwal
and Rahul-Tiwari, 2020). Increasing number of television also contributed in increasing
number of shows produced by television entertainment industry and this also gave
contribution in increasing organisations in television entertainment industry.

Market structure is basically define to how media & entertainment television
industries are classified in their business on the basis of degree, nature of competition.
This is one of the best approach to represent characteristics that influence behavior of
consumers, generate a positive result or outcome.

industry in which provide the best quality of facilities and services. There are various

when different entertainment enterprise offers the best quality of media service. The
reason for targeting potential consumers, who are majorly influence with interactive

providing the similar kind of event management services for music, live entertainment

For example- large companies are now selling their items with the help of

that affected overall industry and economy of Australia and world. Covid-19

efficiently.

the patterns and the procedures should be followed by ensuring that the
significant purpose of the company can be solved by analysing the market
structure and the purpose of fulfilling the customers’ needs and demands
(Forkmann and et.al., 2018).
ï‚· The media and the production should initiate effective and innovative ways
through which company can expand its scale on the basis of what new innovative
ways can they serve entertainment to their customers.
ï‚· Endemol should also concern about the opportunities and strengths so that they
can check and observe the basic working and process of company in an effective
way possible.
Therefore, these are recommendations which company Endemol Shine Australia should
adopt and work towards it in significance to making what is being done on scale of
improvement. And by these recommendations company will be able to change its older
ways of work and production process to new developments and changes to be taken
place in an effective and efficient manner (Täuscher and et.al., 2017). Through these
recommendations the company will be able to help themselves and will initiate process
and procedure which will help in making production more on the scale of how and in
what terms there can be new techniques and tools that can be updated and upgraded to
an extent. This will also help in making what is demand and need of customers in
entertainment industry. The creativity and innovativeness will help company in
generating to vast and new plan which can grow the business more.
