This presentation examines the significant impact of food wastage on the ecosystem and environment, highlighting that a substantial 1.6 trillion tons of food is wasted annually, causing excessive environmental stress. It emphasizes that 40% of food wastage is preventable, which could alleviate starvation-related deaths that surpass fatalities from major diseases. The presentation employs secondary data analysis to assess the impacts of drastic food wastage, including underutilization of natural resources, unnecessary greenhouse gas emissions, and biodiversity loss, with a focus on the high wastage rates among 18-24 year olds. Recommendations include balancing food manufacturing with demand, improving food storage, converting waste into natural resources, and implementing food preparation management regulations. Technical challenges encountered during the project included audio recording issues due to inadequate soundproofing and difficulties in converting the presentation from PPT to MP4 format, affecting font consistency.

It is noted that a huge amount such as 1.6 trillion tons of food gets wasted in an year. This
wastage of food has been the result of the excessive stress for the environment. Intentional
wastage of food has been increasing in a drastic rate. It is also seen that 40% wastage of food can
be prevented. This prevention of the 40% of wastage of food will ensure that the people who are
dying due to starving will not die. Death caused due to unavailability of food has been much
more than the combined number of deaths caused by Malaria, tuberculosis and AIDS.

Implementation of the secondary data analysis is performed. Data that are collected are
from the academic resources are made used of in this process. with the help of secondary data the
main advantage that will be enjoyed includes better management of the collected data and
implementing the same. This methodology provides a flexible and fluid framework for the
researchers. This methodology helps in better understanding of the impacts that might occur in
case of wastage of food in a drastic rate

Impacts of food wastage are as follows: -
• Underutilization of natural resources: In case of wastage of food the main concern that is
present includes the fact that the natural resources that are used in preparing the food also
gets wasted

• Unnecessary of greenhouse gases: The usage of natural resources in preparing of the
food also gets wasted. Excess and unnecessary emission of Carbon di oxide and other
greenhouse gases affect the environment as a whole
• Loss of biodiversity: Loss of biodiversity balance is another impact of food wastage
• Maximum amount of food is wasted by residents who are in between 18 to 24 years.

The amount of food that is wasted includes improper management of biodiversity. Food wastage
also leads to pollution. Implementation of secondary data analysis is performed for data
collection and analysis.
Recommendation
1. Balancing the manufacturing of food with respect to the demand of the food cats
important in mitigating the issue
2. Bettering the storage location of the food also helps in better storage of food.
3. Converting the food that is wasted to natural resources
4. Implementing proper regulation as per the management of the food preparation

Audio recording: The location that I was using for recording the audio was not sound proof. This
affected in decreasing the efficiency of the project.
